Maximise your potential

In order to succeed in achieving a goal, several factors need to be taken into consideration for it to come to fruition. Releasing outdated negative beliefs that hold you back from believing in yourself are crucial, as well as any negative internal language patterns such as "What is the point in trying?", "Who am I kidding?" and "I am not capable of changing."

Do you practice the waiting game? If so you will never be ready. Are you waiting for other people to change or waiting for your own economic circumstances to change?

Identify what is holding you back. What do you make it mean to you?

Thoughts such as "I am a failure", "Life is against me" and "only those with money can do well"  are a way of keeping you stuck and perhaps there is a part of you that is afraid to make the changes necessary to take a leap into the unknown. Moving towards values are essential in order to live the life you want now. Moving away from negative thoughts about success, such as fear of being judged, or how it might make you feel bad to earn more than your partner or that you might lose your friends. Ask yourself "What will I lose if I reach my goal?" Learn to identify the feelings you need to move away from.

Negative conditioning needs to be replaced with positive habits. Read everything you can on the goal you want to achieve. Release everything that is not in alignment with that goal. This might be people in your life who do not believe you could achieve the goal, they are coming from their own place of fear and doubt.

Take full responsibility for yourself, accept only thoughts that keep you on your path to success. Let go of the reasons why you can't and replace it with why you can.

Change old patterns by daily practice that propels you towards your new goal. For example if it is a weight loss goal, start to take daily walks and try out new healthy recipes. Baby steps will keep you on the right path and stop you from going into overwhelm.

Write a goal and future date it. Aim for three to six months into the future and make it realistic. Read your goal every single day to keep you focused and on track.
