About me

I am a Hypnotherapist and Counsellor, working confidentially with adults and teenagers, I work with issues such as PTSD, anxiety, stress, phobia's, insomnia, weight loss, stopping smoking, pain relief, depression, low self esteem, regression work, confidence building, domestic violence, sexual abuse, bereavement, trauma, bullying, self harm and other issues.

I am a qualified and experienced hypnotherapist, I am a member of The Natonal Hypnotherapy Society and the British Association Counselling & Psychotherapy. I also hold a CRB certificate, which means I have been police checked to enable me to work with children and vulnerable adults.

The service I offer is personalised to each individual client. Your initial consultation can include a brief introduction to the state of hypnosis. This means you know what to expect in the sessions themselves and helps allay any fears you may have regarding hypnotherapy. As an ethical practitioner you can be sure that treatment will only be commenced when we agree that you can achieve your goals.

It can be difficult to change habits and fears through willpower alone because they are rooted in the subconscious mind, which is the reason so many of us fail in overcoming these problems. With Hypnotherapy I can deal with certain issues in shorter periods of time, however counselling and hypnotherapy work well together to give an overall benefit to the client

Further information

Hypnotherapy attempts to address an individual's subconscious mind, using the power of suggestion for beneficial change. A hypnotherapist uses hypnosis to give relevant, positive beneficial suggestions to help an individual bring about the change they desire. Although hypnotherapy is not the same as sleep (the individual will still have awareness and control), hypnotherapists often require the individual to be in a deeply relaxed state to enable them to use their imagination fully. For this reason, it’s imperative that the individual feels completely comfortable with their hypnotherapist. Hypnosis is a different state of consciousness from being awake or asleep, and many people compare the deep, relaxed state of hypnosis to daydreaming.

Hypnotherapy can generally help with most emotional problems an individual is finding hard to cope with, and some physical problems can also be effectively treated with hypnosis too, such as IBS and insomnia. As a hypnotherapists I will often combine hypnosis with counselling techniques to benefit individuals. The techniques used will depend on the issue the individual is seeking help for.
