Barbara Neill GQHP, Dyspraxia Specialist, GHR Acknowledged Supervisor
Unique background in hypnotherapy
My father, Bob Neill, was one of the first professional hypnotherapists in the UK. He continued to practice hypnotherapy until he passed away in 2006. Because of this, I am in the privileged position of having known about hypnotherapy all my life.
Success in one session
I played a supporting role in my father's practice for many years before qualifying as a hypnotherapist in my own right, in 2005. This has enabled me to continue my father's work with the same compassion, integrity and sincerity for which he was known and respected and, like him, I always aim for complete success in one session though, for some people, a second session may be needed.
I never use a script, but treat each session of hypnotherapy as a unique situation and tailor the hypnosis to the needs of the client.
It doesn’t matter where you are in the world, as I offer online appointments via Skype, FaceTime etc. It’s as effective as appointments in person and has the advantage of allowing you to relax in your own home for as long as you like following the session.
As the parent of a dyspraxic son, as well as having Dyspraxia myself, I have an excellent understanding of the issues involved and can help with various difficulties associated with Dyspraxia, including help with learning to drive and passing the driving test.
I have been vegan since 2015 and was vegetarian for thirty seven years before that. I believe in simplifying the issues around healthy eating (and weight loss, where necessary) and have developed Conscious Eating; Mindful Meals, which I describe as a sort of ‘eating meditation’, and is available as an MP3 download. I also offer hypnotherapy to address healthy eating and/or weight management.
I have published several books and have developed a hypnotherapy-based programme to help writers and aspiring writers to combat situations such as; writer’s block, setting realistic goals, focus, posture etc. which is available as an MP3 download.
‘Practical Hypnotherapy Simplified’, Dyspraxia and Hypnotherapy" and "Working with Dad", (as well as novels and poetry), which are available from Amazon.

Past life regression
If you would like to explore the possibility of a past life, I’ll be happy to help. Although there are no guarantees of accessing a past life, (and it must be acknowledged that any information accessed from your subconscious could be there as the result of a childhood memory, for example), I have found that an average of about three different situations can be accessed during each session of past life regression.
I can also help with;
Anxiety, confidence, public speaking, sports and pastimes, fears and phobias, weight loss, healthy eating, addictions including smoking, dyspraxia, low self-esteem, self-improvement, such as learning a musical instrument, language etc. and much more. Whatever your situation, you don’t need to ‘pigeon-hole’ it. You are unique, your situation is unique and I can treat you accordingly. Contact me for details.
I am a GHR acknowledged hypnotherapy supervisor. Please contact me for details.
Well Barbara, what you did for my son was such a success. He's kept clean and doesn't want to take that stuff anymore. We are so grateful to you. Thank you so much. He only had one session of hypnotherapy and it's made him so different as a person. xx C.S.
Thank you, Barbara! I was so anxious about that job interview and as you know I couldn't even face turning up for it the first time. I was lucky to get a second chance and even luckier to have a session of hypnotherapy. It was just as you said it would be. I enjoyed the interview and I got the job! Thank you so much. H.B.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am in the unusual and privileged position of having been familiar with hypnotherapy throughout my life, thanks to my father, Bob Neill, who discovered his gift for hypnotherapy as early as 1943.
I am a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register and the Complementary Therapists Association (CThA).
I am also a GHR Acknowledged Hypnotherapy Supervisor, and I offer one-to-one supervision to both newly-qualified and established hypnotherapists.
I also have an ITEC qualification in Anatomy & Physiology, as well as a PTLLS teaching qualification and I have studied Cognitive Psychology, Educational Psychology and Social Psychology at Degree level.
I specialise in helping people who have dyspraxia. I am dyspraxic, myself, and I am a co-founder of T2D - The Two Dyspraxics. Together with Matthew Munson, I have made a series of videos, available on YouTube, on various aspects of Dyspraxia. I have an excellent understanding of the issues involved and have published a book, "Dyspraxia and Hypnotherapy", which is available from Amazon in both paperback and Kindle editions. I also teach Dyspraxia Awareness, (please contact me for details), including Dyspraxia Awareness for Hypnotherapists.
The General Hypnotherapy Register
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).
Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.
All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
