******* I AM NOW RETIRED *******
Are You Suffering?
My name is David Stocks. I’m a Senior Clinical Hypnotherapist. I am also a former member of the Advisory Council of the National Society of Professional Hypnotherapists and a Senior Associate of Royal Society of Medicine (by invitation). I have conducted around 12,000 hours of Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy sessions.
I help people with all sorts of problems - big and small – from panic attacks and phobias to weight loss and insomnia. I specialise in helping people who can’t seem to get over things that have happened in their past, such as difficulties with parents, bullying, abuse or violent relationships.
These can lead to yo-yo dieting and other eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia (and other addictions like drugs or gambling), as well as serious self-esteem and relationship problems (e.g. jealousy or sexual). I also help people with a variety anxiety problems such as anxiety while driving (typically when going over bridges, or on motorways), various phobias such as flying and snakes, as well as physical problems that arise from anxiety and anger such as IBS. The list seems endless.
Helping people to lose weight is about the most successful thing I do, and I use my own version of the Gastric Band therapy that seems to have caught the public's imagination. (Actually, to really be successful long-term, you have to do an awful lot more work than to simply "shrink" someone's stomach, as this only takes about 10 minutes. It has taken a lifetime to become who you are - would you really trust someone who said he or she could simply "fix you" in a couple of hours?)
Whilst I can't help everyone, there’s every chance I could help you. I have over 90 Testimonials from past clients on my website at www.kinglet.co.uk.
Why don’t you give me a ring on 01383 821177, email me at DavidStocksHyp@aol.com (please mention the Hypnotherapy Directory), or you can contact me through this website?

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
Many of my clients are struggling to deal with the effects of abuse and violence, past and present. Often, there are issues with a parent - perhaps a long-standing feeling of being unloved (whether real or imagined). Past relationships can haunt people for the rest of their lives, especially if there has been betrayal of some kind. These can effect people in all sorts of ways.
My sessions last up to around 2 hours, (3 hours for the first). Each session costs £90.You pay a £30 "rolling" deposit when you book your first session, and this comes off the cost of the final session. (If you really can't afford this - perhaps you're on benefits - then I may be able to reduce this).
I take a logical, pragmatic approach to hypnotherapy, so I don't do "past life regression", etc. I feel it is important to take time to listen to clients and to explain what hypnosis actually is. That's why I allow 2 hours per session.
There is no such thing as being "under" hypnosis. Many clients wonder whether "I can be hypnotised". Hypnosis is essentially daydreaming - EVERYONE can do that, so you don't have to BELIEVE in anything to be hypnotised.
I use my own version of Gastric Band Hypnotherapy. (Some people later on don't like the idea that "someone's DONE something to me". My technique is much gentler and more empowering.)
Note that many "snackaholics" just want someone to "FIX ME", and Gastric Band Hypnotherapy appeals to that desire. I feel that it is important, for anyone who's thinking of trying this treatment, to understand that there IS a reason why you can't control your eating - and it's this same thing that is also making you unhappy. Unless you deal with what has happened in your life, you're unlikely ever to deal with your problem permanently. Gastric Band Hypnotherapy, or any other purely suggestion therapy, on its own will often fade. If it was just about being thin, you would never yo-yo diet - the first time you lost any weight would make you so happy you'd never overeat again!
