About me

Hi I'm Susan, a Senior Clinical Hypnotherapist, Trainer & Anxiety Specialist and specialise in helping you overcome your medical conditions. I was previously a senior nurse and also the leading practitioner for Hypnoband- the virtual hypnotic gastric band fitting system in North Lincolnshire. I help clients with Anxiety & Stress on a daily basis, some of which only need one session. I am passionate & dedicated in what I do. My mission is to have an anxiety free world- bold I agree but in truth, if you know how to overcome your emotions, you can be! I want to inspire people with confidence, build their resilience & self-esteem, infuse motivation and a drive to achieve growth and success. My greatest strength lies in transforming and helping clients to be who and what they want to be.

Apart from remarkable success in anxiety, the hypnotic gastric band weight loss system, I also have had profound results in PTSD, Chronic Pain Syndrome, IBS, Smoking & Sport Enhancement and many other issues. My therapy room is welcoming & has fully equipped state of the art tools. I make use of realistic simulation, guided imagery and visualisation techniques, which have been proven to enhance the hypnotic experience, leading to repeatable and consistent success. I am also a facilitator of a Peer group for hypnotherapists ensuring development of their skills to maintain high standards within the profession. I teach hypnotherapy to diploma level and an Occupational Stress Practitioner. I am a great believer in updating my skills regularly to give my clients the best tools possible. I am also an Auricular Acupuncture Practitioner.

Exercise for Confidence & Self-Esteem:
Self-confident people believe in themselves and their abilities to accomplish their goals. When you have confidence you will find you will focus on success, you will learn from your mistakes rather than beat yourself up. Treat yourself with love, kindness, and compassion and you will find that you start noticing the things that you do well, rather than being your own negative critic. Below is an exercise you can practice to benefit you in many ways and the more you do this technique, the stronger the benefits you will receive.
1.Stand up and take a deep breath in through your nose and breathe out and down from your mouth - repeat a few times.
2.Imagine a circle on the floor that you will shortly stand inside. Just for a moment I would like you to think about how you want to feel, how you want to look and how you want to be. Be that person bursting with confidence, hear your confident voice, look at yourself smiling, feel that happiness inside, take it all in and be in that moment.
3.Now step in your imaginary circle - be your own 'cheerleader' bursting with confidence- you deserve this! Feel it, see, hear it, enjoy it- be it!
4.Step out the circle and let that feeling fade away.
5.Now repeat the process three times, each time you step in that circle feel like you are bursting with confidence, cheering yourself on, feeling exactly like you wish to be. Every time you step out the circle allowing it just to fade away.
You can take this circle everywhere with you, use it anytime and anywhere when you need more confidence. All you have to do is just step in 'your circle'. The more you practice this, the stronger you will feel.

Breathing Exercise to Help You Become Calm:

This is great for anybody who is feeling anxious or stressed and in need of some quick help.

Sit in a quiet comfortable place where you won't be disturbed. You can close your eyes in your own time or its OK to keep them open. Pop your hand on your chest wall and allow yourself to feel the rise and fall beneath it. Slowly & gently breathe in through your nose to the count of 4 and be aware of your chest rising as you do this. Now breathe out and blow down from your mouth to the count of 6. Repeat for 5 minutes or so and as you do you will feel yourself becoming calmer and more relaxed.
