About me

As people we are not our behaviours, abilities or our beliefs. However, all these things ARE shaped by our perceptions. Consequently I believe if we want to change or learn how to, then it all starts with our perceptions. My mission is to help clients improve their lives and fulfil their potential by guiding them to use their own inner resources.

With my passion of playing and coaching sport, I've studied sports psychology for over 25 years, and with a working life change in 2005, studied sports hypnosis. I soon realised how relevant it was to the effectiveness of most applications of sports and performance psychology. After initially gaining DHyp(S), I continued studies, gaining full Diploma in general hypnotherapy (2007), with one ambition to make a difference in people's lives, not just for sporting clients but for people in all walks of life.

I am a published author with currently ten books on the subject of personal change and development available in both paperback, Kindle and one as an audiobook. My latest publication "Caterpillars love to be Snakes" is a book for dealing with examination and performance stress for young people, students and performers.

Although now semi-retired and based in East Cornwall, my in-person therapy and coaching work can and has taken me much further afield at times. Since the pandemic I have also worked with numerous long-term clients via WhatsApp, Messenger, Zoom, Skype etc, which brings not just a level of almost boundless accessibility, but also is remarkably effective in therapeutic terms!

The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Hypnotherapist's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Hypnotherapist to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Advance notice of wheelchair access requirement is requested, to enable arrangement of the requisite clinical room space.
