Currently I have suspended my hypnotherapy practice until the Covid 19 pandemic has been resolved.
My therapeutic practice grew from an interest in the practical applications of philosophy. Hypnotherapy offers fast solutions to actual life problems.
My techniques tend to be now and future oriented, and I find that most people feel at their best when motivated by a powerful and compelling life goal, future self-image or target state. However I also use regression techniques when necessary.
I have successfully treated the whole listed range of presenting problems with hypnosis, and frequently combine methods such as NLP, EMDR, EFT with elements of rapid cognitive therapy.
My intensive one-session to stop addiction is now my most popular and effective method. Over 15 years I have refined and adapted the stop smoking protocol to cover addictive problems including alcohol, cocaine, ketamine, gambling, sex addiction and alcohol. I have regularly treated by recommendation whole extended family and social groups. It is far more effective and cheaper to aim for 100% cessation in one session than to use gradual reduction over multiple sessions. While I cannot also offer 100% guarantees of success, I only charge the £120 one session fee once, further sessions are the normal £80.
Hypnotherapy frequently becomes a personal journey of self-discovery that goes far beyond the confines of initial presenting problems. Once motivated and given direction, the `Unconscious` mind has vast potential for self-development and creative change that far exceeds people`s self-expectations. People frequently use the relaxing nature of pure hypnosis `content-free`, i.e. without a definite problem. I often hear this deep trance relaxation described as akin to a computer reset. "Switch it off and switch it on again."
By using the trance state, hypnosis bypasses the conscious mind`s filters to address the unconscious directly. This can accelerate the change and problem-solving that longer term therapies like counselling and analysis also address. While 4-5 sessions will usually give a solution to presenting problems, I find that many people naturally engage with hypnosis and counselling to resolve problems and return as necessary over a longer period of time.
Training, qualifications & experience
BA (Hons) Philosophy and Eng Lit (1976-79)
(2001-03) LCCH Imperial College Certificate, diploma and practitioner diploma Clinical hypnotherapy.
Continually employed since qualification, full member of British Society for Clinical Hypnosis.
I have 15 years experience, successfully treating many patients including 7/7 bombing survivors, heroin, cannabis, cocaine, alcohol, nicotine and gambling addicts, victims of physical and psychological trauma, institutional, religious, parental and domestic abuse, unresolved grief, performance problems including sexual issues and stage fright, academic, artistic and studying problems, creative blocks, relationship and social phobias, memory recovery including apparent `past life` issues.
My personal experience with `past life` therapy leads me to view it as a very powerful metaphorical resource that can bring about profound change and experiences, but can also trigger extremely disturbing memory type events. For this very reason I never agree to do `off the shelf` or `tourist` past life regression.
