About me

I offer a caring therapeutic service based on effective methods (as demonstrated in clinical research trials.)

My approach combines Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with Hypnotherapy (Hypno-CBT) to treat a wide range of conditions including smoking, drinking, anxiety, panic attacks, low confidence, phobias, insomnia and IBS.

I am a specialist in relaxation training, deep muscle relaxation, mindfulness and meditation - particularly working with social anxiety, general anxiety and panic attacks.

Clients receive not only deep hypnosis in the sessions they are also encouraged and motivated to work between the sessions with therapeutic self-hypnosis recordings and relaxation exercises which form a core part of the treatment.

Each client is learns key life skills in relaxation, self-hypnosis and how to challenge and replace one's own negative thinking. I place a particular emphasis on clients learning rapid deep relaxation skills and self-hypnosis.

I focus on getting clients back to optimal functioning as soon as possible. Hypnotherapy sessions include formal assessments of emotional distress and fears - and progress is measured during the course of treatment.

I specialise in working with anxiety disorders, panic attacks, insomnia, low self-confidence, social phobia/anxiety, IBS, fear of flying and smoking cessation.

In the sessions hypnotherapy treatments utilise evidence-based methods and are focused on dealing with the here and now - rather than needing to analyse the past.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

GHR
The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
