About me
My name is Wendy Chorley and I am the proud owner of Jasper Hypnotherapy. As a fully qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist I specialise in helping people make that all important change within themselves, to taking that first step to a new positive life.
I believe at some stage in everyone’s busy and often chaotic life there is a time to seek a little extra help in moving forward; whether it’s managing stress, anxiety, insomnia, confidence boosting or dealing with a difficult journey such as the menopause or a cancer.
Training, qualifications & experience
After nearly 40 wonderful years as a senior nurse in the NHS I have a wealth of experience in caring for individuals, both staff and patients in all states of physical, psychological and emotional need. I am educated to Master level with an MSc in Oncology, Counselling qualifications, along with numerous publications.
Over the years I know that individuals respond differently to the therapies offered, as not all treatments/therapies work for everyone. This is why I became curious and intrigued with alternative therapies and particularly hypnotherapy. I was amazed with the results that could be achieved in such a short space of time. Individuals really benefitting from being empowered to take control of their emotions and life. So I embarked on an extensive period of training which was accredited by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council, culminating in being accepted on the General Hypnotherapy Register along with the Complementary & Natural Health Council register.
I am certified as a Weight Management and Smoking Cessation Specialist as well as holding a Diploma in Neuro-Linguistic Programming. With the many skills and depth of knowledge that I have acquired over the years I am able to tailor therapy to an individual’s specific needs.

Member organisations
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).
Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.
All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
