Tina Wilson - Cognitive Hypnotherapist
You don't have to live with your problems forever
Over the years, we learn to live with things that can gradually wear us down.
Whether it’s physical aches and pains or unhelpful thought patterns, we can become so used to believing that this is just how we are, and how things have got to be.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. If you are living with any of these problems, or you are worried about somebody close, Cognitive Hypnotherapy can help.
Positive change can be made - You really can make lasting changes in your life and I’m here to help you do just that.
Our lives are precious, and I am committed to helping you to live your life to your highest potential.
Placing your trust in somebody to help you address your personal problems can feel like a very big step.
Finding the right person to help you is key to helping you to make progress.
Training, qualifications & experience
we’ll take a look at the things you need to look for in a Cognitive Hypnotherapist.
They need to be a fully qualified Cognitive Hypnotherapist (HPD, DipCHyp)
They should be a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) or The National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH)
They should be committed to abiding by the CNHC's or NCH's strict code of conduct, performance, ethics and public protection policies (including client confidentiality)
They should be fully insured to carry out the treatment
I’m proud to confirm that I meet all of the above criteria which you should consider when choosing a practitioner to help you.
I’ll tell you a little more about myself in the attached video's so that you can get to know me a bit better:
If you’re wondering what Cognitive Hypnotherapy actually is, how it works, how effective it is, who it can help, what the sessions are like to experience and what they cost, the answers to all your questions are on this page.
Recent research has shown that our unconscious mind is responsible for 90% of our daily behaviour. The unconscious seeks to protect us by keeping us away from situations that it views as unpleasant based on what it has experienced in the past.
For example, as a child you may have experienced a period of fear, embarrassment or anxiety. Today, as an adult, you might still be holding onto that emotion that has built up over the years. This can mean that you become ’emotionally hijacked’ by your subconscious, which is trying to protect you from a similar experience. The result of this is behaviour which you cannot control, and maybe even can’t understand.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy is solution-focussed. I work with you to uncover the source of your problem in order to ‘reframe’ how your unconscious views it. Work is then completed to instill positive behaviour moving forward.
Everyone is unique and the way in which each individual experiences their problem is specific to them. Therefore, I will always tailor your treatment to your own needs. There are no set scripts. I will be employing the best techniques for you, allowing the most effective change to take place in the shortest time possible.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy is an evidence-based therapy. There is a body of evidence as to the effectiveness of this therapy, which has been completed in association with NICE and the University of Warwick. Please see my website for more information - www.margatehypno.com
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
