About me

Hi. I am a HypnoIBS® practitioner, helping people to manage their IBS symptoms using evidence based methods. I also work with a range of other issues. I have been a solution focused hypnotherapist since 1999 and have helped many people to become unstuck from what is holding them back.

My view is that you have the right to enjoy a full and meaningful life. Please look through my profile to get an idea of some of the areas of work that I am experienced in.

Hypnotherapy works on the principle that we have 2 minds: The Subconscious- the creative part that runs the show, and the Conscious- the logical and analytical part. Our Unconscious minds carry the beliefs and experiences that our Conscious mind has put there and it will hold on to that until it's told otherwise.

Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy is a wonderfully relaxing experience in which your Conscious mind becomes relaxed and focussed allowing your Subconscious mind to accept suggestions via the use of metaphors and stories to help it to generate solutions and more helpful beliefs so that you can experience rapid change.

You will always be in control during a hypnosis session.

In addition to the "therapy" element of hypnotherapy, I also offer regular relaxation, visualisation, and de-stress sessions for individuals or groups. I am available for talks and demonstrations for private groups or corporate clients. Please contact me to discuss.

Sessions are individually tailored for you. "Scripts" (pre written hypnotic inductions and suggestions) are NEVER used. My focus is entirely on you. Hypnosis is an effective approach to resolving many issues and I really look forward to having an introductory chat with you so that we can get to know each other and I can answer your questions and if you are happy to proceed, we can make an appointment together. All communication between us is strictly confidential and during our work together you will have a safe space in which to talk.

I am registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

I practice at the Bushey Therapy Centre; 85 Melbourne Road, Bushey WD23 3LZ  where there is ample parking and toilet facilities.

If you prefer, we can work together online- wherever you live. I can help you with a whole range of issues including:

  • Management of IBS symptoms (HypnoIBS® practitioner)
  • Stress Management
  • Anxiety
  • Phobias
  • Help to stop smoking
  • Confidence.

Your sessions will be tailored for you and will be held in the strictest of confidence. You will enjoy a relaxed and effective approach.

I follow a strict code of conduct and ethics as set out by the G.H.R and C.N.H.C.

I welcome a phone call from you so I can assess your needs and answer all the questions that you have. I very much look forward to meeting you and taking the next steps with you!

The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
