Lewis Psychology is a multi award winning ethical company that provide a large range of evidence based psychological health services for individuals, couples and businesses in Wolverhampton and throughout the West Midlands.

Teresa Lewis, Director and Senior Practitioner

Teresa Lewis is a Senior Accredited therapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP Snr. Accred). Qualified in 1995 Teresa has completed over 15,000 therapy sessions and has successfully dealt with a wide range of issues from anger management to health anxiety. Teresa holds a Masters degree in counselling and psychotherapy and is a qualified EMDR Practitioner having completed training accredited with EMDR Europe.

Paul Lewis, Director and Senior Practitioner

Paul is an Accredited Clinical Hypnotherapist with The National Hypnotherapy Society (MHS Acc) and has been awarded Advanced Practitioner (ADPR) status by the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR).  As Wolverhampton's only GHR validated Advanced Hypnotherapy Practitioner, Paul has a substantial breadth and depth of knowledge in many areas of psychotherapy and hypnosis including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Counselling and Neuro Linguistic programming (NLP).

Prianca Budon, Psychologist

Prianca is registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She has a degree in psychology and a BACP accredited masters degree in counselling. She is currently completing her doctorate in counselling psychology and is registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and BACP. Prianca has worked within different professional settings, including community projects, charities, private practice and schools, providing both brief and long term therapeutic interventions.

Temi Lawal, Psychologist

Temi is registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and is is currently completing her doctorate in counselling psychology.  Prior to working for Lewis Psychology Temi worked for the National Health Service (NHS) where she worked at an Improving Access to Psychological Interventions (IAPT) service seeing clients who are struggling to manage with the pressures of day to day life or events that throw us off balance that lead to anxiety and depression. Temi is experienced in using a variety of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), compassion focussed therapy (CFT) and psychodynamic therapy.

Taran Bajaj, Psychologist

Taran is registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and is is currently completing her doctorate dissertation in counselling psychology. Taran has worked with clients across the lifespan, with a broad spectrum of emotional and interpersonal difficulties. Taran’s professional experience in the National Health Service (NHS) and this sector third sector organisations has given her diverse proficiency to address a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, anger, eating disorders, sexual abuse, domestic violence and much more. She is currently completing a doctoral thesis in the perpetration of domestic abuse.

The Premises

We are located at: Lewis Psychology, Deansgate, 62-70 Tettenhall Road, Wolverhampton, WV1 4TH. Deansgate has been refurbished to an exceptionally high specification, it is a landmark property that dates back to the early 18th Century and has retained its period features throughout. We are situated on the ground floor and there is full disabled access at the rear of the building. There is a free onsite car parkat the front and rear of the building for up to 82 cars.

We are based in a prominent location on the A41 Tettenhall Road within the established office quarter of Wolverhampton.  We are approximately 1 mile north west of Wolverhampton city centre, Junction 10 of the M6 motorway is approximately 6.4 miles east and Junction 2 of the M54 motorway 4.5 miles north.

How To Find Us

  • By car: Lewis Psychology CIC is on Tettenhall Road (A41) approximately a half a mile from Wolverhampton town centre.
  • By bus: If you are travelling via public transport Lewis Psychology CIC is on the Tettenhall bus route (bus number one) from Wolverhampton bus station. You will need to get off the bus on Tettenhall Road just before the Shell garage. The bus stop is directly across the road from Lewis Psychology offices.
  • By foot: Approximately a 10 to 15 minute walk from Wolverhampton city centre.

OTHER SERVICES

Eye Movement Desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR)

Teresa Lewis is also a practitioner of Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) having completed training accredited with EMDR Europe. EMDR is a psychotherapy that was developed by Francine Shapiro to resolve the development of trauma-related memories caused by exposure to distressing events such as rape, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), physical abuse or neglect, surgical trauma and road traffic accidents. Since its original development, EMDR is also increasingly used to help individuals with other issues such as performance anxiety, phobias, health anxiety and a wide range of other issues.

Mindfulness Courses

Teresa Lewis regularly delivers an eight week Accredited Breathworks Mindfulness for Stress course. The Mindfulness course consists of 8 x 2-hour group sessions, where there will be guided mindfulness practice and theoretical teachings. Each week participants are taught a number of different mindfulness practices that can be incorporated into daily life to reduce stress and aid general wellbeing. Teresa also delivers an eight week Mindfulness Based Compassionate Living (MBCL) course for graduates of 8 week Mindfulness courses such as MBCT, MBSR and Breathworks courses.
