About me

Hello. Here is some information about me and how I practise so that you can decide for yourself whether you would like to make that initial step to contact me and go on to hopefully resolve your problem.

I have a wealth of experience, both professionally and in life skills. As a past qualified nurse and counsellor my life has been spent predominantly at a senior management level specialising in various NHS settings, pain control programmes in palliative care overseas as well as Acquired Brain Injury and Neurological Rehabilitation.

As a qualified Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner based in Warsash near Fareham and Southampton I seek to help people make positive, empowering and lasting changes to their lives.

Here are some of the issues I can help with:

  • Pain, physical or emotional
  • Post-traumatic stress
  • Stress and anxiety, socially or in the work place
  • Depression and moods
  • Panic attacks
  • Fears and phobias
  • Unwanted habits such as nail biting or hair pulling
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Loss bereavement and grieving
  • Weight reduction and management
  • Exam nerves and public speaking
  • Academic and athletic performance
  • Low self-esteem
  • Sleep deprivation and related issues

I fully understand if you feel a little sceptical or nervous about exploring the use of hypnotherapy. You may have some preconceived ideas of what it means but rest assured I will make every effort to put your mind at rest and you never know we may have some fun along the way.

Working in partnership and with your commitment, we will use a range of techniques based on constructive discussion. Your problems don't need to define you as a person or control your life any more. Have courage and take that step!

If you would like more detailed information or my help please contact me at the above website, email address or telephone number and I will be only too pleased to discuss any issues with you.

Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

The General Hypnotherapy Register

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

My fees vary according to the number of sessions required for treatment but as an approximate gauge 3 sessions would be £50 per session = £150. The fee is agreed prior to treatment and the number of additional sessions if required may be reviewed as treatment progresses.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a hypnotherapist's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the hypnotherapist to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
