About me

About me
I have experience in working with adults and teens, with many sorts of issues - panic, anxiety, fears and phobias, procrastination, self-esteem and many other things.

I work with all ages over 11 years of age and will go through an open and honest assessment with you to identify if hypnotherapy is the best therapy type for you.

I can work face-to-face in either of my therapy rooms in or near Bournemouth or online, whichever is most convenient. Both ways work well. I also offer some limited evening and Saturday appointments.

I can assist with any issues you may have, whether its:

  • Anxiety or depression
  • Feeling that you're not progressing in some way
  • Strong emotions that cause behaviours that you'd rather not have
  • Pain or physical symptoms
  • Exam stress
  • Fears and phobias
  • Grief or loss
  • Recovery from difficult relationships
  • Weight management
  • Decision making
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Many other things, please feel free to contact me to discuss further via a free consultation

Training, qualifications & experience
We’ll take a look at the things you need to look for in a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner when you're looking for someone to work with you or your teen

  • They need to be a fully qualified Cognitive Hypnotherapist (HPD, DipCHyp NCH)
  • They should be a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) or The National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH)
  • They should be committed to abiding by the CNHC's or NCH's strict code of conduct, performance, ethics and public protection policies (including client confidentiality)
  • They should be fully insured to carry out the treatment
  • They need to be enhanced DBS checked

I’m proud to confirm that I meet all of the above criteria which you should consider when choosing a practitioner to help you.

If you’re wondering what Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy actually is, how it works, how effective it is, what it can help with, what the sessions are like to experience and what they cost, the answers to all your questions are on this page or please do get in touch, I offer a free 15-minute telephone chat to answer any questions.

Recent research has shown that our unconscious mind is responsible for 90% of our daily behaviour. The unconscious seeks to protect us by keeping us away from situations that it views as unpleasant based on what it has experienced in the past.

For example, as a child, you may have experienced a period of fear, embarrassment or anxiety. Today, as an adult, you might still be holding onto that emotion that has built up over the years. This can mean that you become ’emotionally hijacked’ by your subconscious, which is trying to protect you from a similar experience. The result of this is behaviour which you cannot control, and maybe even can’t understand.

Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy is completed to make rapid change via your conscious mind as well as your unconscious. This involved various techniques including Cognitive Behavioural elements such as Identification of unhelpful chronic patterns of behaviours.

I work with you or your child to uncover the source of your problem in order to ‘reframe’ how your unconscious views it. Work is then completed to instil positive and helpful behaviours moving forward.

Everyone is unique and the way in which each individual experiences their problem is specific to them. Therefore, I will always tailor your treatment to your own needs. There are no set scripts. I will be employing the best, evidence-based techniques for you, allowing the most effective change to take place in the shortest time possible.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy is an evidence-based therapy. There is a body of evidence as to the effectiveness of this therapy, which has been completed in association with NICE and the University of Warwick.
