I am a hypnotherapist who works with people suffering from anxiety and stress, people who have lost their confidence and feel they are no longer in control of their lives. Sometimes a phobia can be stopping a client from following their dream whether it's a trip of a lifetime or a new job. Often clients will say to me that they know they aren't happy but they don't know how to make things better and move forward.
My job is to help my clients get back control of their lives, to help them to regain their confidence and live their lives the way they want to.
I use a solution focused approach, I only focus on the future and how we can achieve positive outcomes rather than dwelling on the past. I use a simple 5 step process which can turn people's lives around in as little as 6 weeks. I help them to understand why they are suffering in the way they are, help them to set positive goals for the future, identify and undo any negative behaviour patterns that may be holding them back, create positive new behaviour patterns and habits and lock those in for permanent change.

Training, qualifications & experience
I trained in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy with the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training Centre and have a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (DHP) and the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH).
I am a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapists and the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and the Complementary & Natural Health Care Council and am bound by their code of practice.

Having had a fear of heights all my life, this naturally, became a fear of flying. I had not flown for over 45 years and the very thought of it was horrifying. My son had met a lovely Chilean girl and when he announced that they had got engaged, we, his parents, were delighted. Then he dropped the bombshell – the wedding would, naturally, be in Chile. I was sceptical about hypnotherapy, lacking in confidence and struggling at work and had lost my mo-jo having had a difficult few years so decided to give hypnotherapy a try. I decided to try hypnotherapy after a close relative had found it very helpful.I have had an extremely difficult three years, firstly losing my only brother to cancer and then my mother six months later.I decided to try hypnotherapy to help overcome my high levels of anxiety, depression and tiredness. I was hoping that it would give me a way forward and it certainly has.
I recently completed six sessions of hypnotherapy with Sarah and although it was challenging at times, I am feeling more in control of my life and as a consequence my confidence levels are continuing to grow.Being advised to write three positive things every day has been very helpful which I am continuing to do. Before my sessions with Sarah I suffered with anxiety, confidence and anger to the point where it was interfering with my everyday work and personal life. So I was advised that hynotheorpy was an effective option. This was something I was a little skeptical about before but now I have full faith in it!
From the beginning Sarah had said to me that she was no miracle worker and that the majority of the work had to come from myself. This at first I was unsure of but after following her instruction on homework and then relaying it back to her in sessions I slowly felt things were looking more positive. The sessions were always warm and welcoming but never condescending, which I have felt before with a counsellor. I still to this day write down my positives in my notebook and they grow every day. I find I don't have as many meltdowns during the weeks over petty things because I can let most of it go. If you’re thinking of using hypnotherapy don't judge it before you try it!!! It's something that not a lot of people know about and it's extremely interesting to know how your brain works and why we think, react and do the things we do. It's also a really relaxed treatment, and shouldn't be confused with what you see on TV.
Having heard positive comments about Hypnotherapy from friends, I decided it may be just the sort of thing I was looking for. My work life was causing me some stress, mainly due to the extra responsibilities required in my new role. And, in my personal life, I was still trying to adjust after the break-up of my 28 year marriage and grown up children leaving home.
I found Sarah to be positive and encouraging. From our first session I found Sarah to be helpful and, most important for me, empowering. I wanted to take control of my situation and find a different way of viewing things which Sarah helped me to do. Sarah has a lovely gentle manner which I easily responded to.
