About me

Hello, this is Sandrine at Renaissance Hypnotherapy.

Renaissance Hypnotherapy offers high-quality hypnotherapy services and specialises in anxieties states and phobias, and IBS (I have GHR specialist status). I am also an Anxiety-UK approved therapist who provides therapeutic support to the charity's members and partners beneficiaries. I can also help you with insomnia, anger, weight and chronic pain issues.

My methods are influenced by CBT. I favour evidence-based methods simply because their efficacy has been proven. I also use NLP and classical hypnotherapy techniques.

Our first meeting will last up to 90 minutes. This is an exploratory session where I will find out about you and your needs so I can tailor a treatment plan.

Subsequent hypnotherapy sessions will last about 50 minutes. Depending on the issue, hypnotherapy generally requires 4 to 6 single sessions so positive change is implemented however, other conditions such as IBS will take more. For more details about my services please have a look at my website: www.renaissance-hypno.co.uk

I am happy to talk to you and answer any queries you might have via email or telephone.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully certified and insured hypnotherapist (HPD, Dip Hyp, NLP Pract).

I qualified at the Anglo-European School of Hypnosis (UK) and was trained by Adam Eason, the leading Evidence-Based hypnotherapist. I hold the Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma: the only externally accredited diploma. I am also an N.L.P Practitioner.

I am a full member of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR), and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).  As such, I abide by their Code of Conduct and Ethics which means that I do my utmost to work according to high standards of practice.

I value and recognise the importance of patient's relationship and that of working collaboratively. I am LGBT+ aware and CRB checked to enhance level.

I am influenced by the cognitive-behavioural theory: my approach to treatment is on symptom itself: on the 'now' not on the past.

For personal ethical reasons, I do not offer regression.

I use a range of techniques borrowed from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic-Programming, and classical hypnotherapy.

Member organisations

Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

The General Hypnotherapy Register

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
