Having had a fulfilling career in the Police Force, cut short through injury, then a five year gap when I had my daughter, I started working in schools as a learning support assistant working with special needs children. I have always enjoyed talking to people and have also taken courses in counselling and am currently studying for counselling for teens and children.
My interest in hypnotherapy started following my own successful treatment for dental phobia and claustrophobia, and having experienced first hand the changes you can make in your life by using the power of your own mind, I would now like to use my knowledge and expertise to help you make the positive changes to your life that you're hoping for.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully accredited Hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner having studied for my diploma with the Hampshire School of Hypnotherapy and I have completed some training with Roy Hunter on Motivational Mapping. I am also a qualified Hypno Gastric Band practitioner and have clients who are experiencing some amazing results using this method for weight loss.
I am registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) and the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), the only government endorsed UK regulator for complementary healthcare. Some private healthcare providers recognise these registrations and will therefore cover you for treatment using hypnotherapy.
All of my therapy is client-centred and I am trained in the use of the ideo-motor response, in order to identify causes of problems, whereby I can then use a range of techniques including scripts, inner child and Gestalt to help facilitate change.
My testimonial about my experience of having had a Hypno Gastric Band fitted.
How do you find the words to say thank you to someone who has completely changed your life? I'm not sure but I'm certainly going to try.
I had already completed the Hypnotherapy Diploma training course with Lorraine when I returned for a further days training as a Hypno Gastric Band practitioner and volunteered to be the 'guinea pig' for the day. Little did I know then that this was going to be the day that changed my life forever. You see, I had battled with my weight for years. I had been on every diet going, Weight Watchers, Slimming World, Lighter Life, Herbalife, Slimfast, the list goes on, and whilst sometimes having some success losing weight, I always seemed to 'self-sabotage' and give up with the same thoughts running through my head ' I can't do this, I'm always going to be fat etc etc. and subsequently putting the weight back on. This, coupled with a sweet tooth, anyone who knows me will confirm I was a chocoholic, and like many, having been brought up as part of the 'clean plate' brigade, I thought was destined to be fat forever. That was before ' that day'. Lorraine took me into hypnosis and quickly identified the 'cause' of my over eating, and dealt with it, which came as a huge shock, but was also a 'lightbulb moment' for me. She then went on to 'fit' the Hypno Gastric Band still under hypnosis; I was completely blown away by how realistic the 'operation' was, hearing the sounds of the operating theatre and smelling the antiseptic. I really felt like I had a gastric band in place. I was sent home with a cd to listen to daily and I also had a cd to counteract chocolate addiction. I listened to both short cd's every day, one in the morning and one in the evening before bed. And here I am, six weeks down the line,16lbs lighter, but far more importantly are the lifestyle changes that I've made, seemingly effortlessly. Apart from the much smaller portions I am now eating, I also find myself choosing much healthier options for both main courses and snacks. I will now reach for a handful of grapes or nuts if peckish, and am eating lots of fruit, whereas before it would have been chocolates, sweets or biscuits. Incidentally, I haven't eaten either since as I just don't fancy them anymore. In a nutshell, the best part is I don't feel like I'm on a 'diet'.I eat what I want, when I want, as there are no banned foods. Oh the sense of freedom, and guess what? Because I can eat anything, I don't want it. I find it easy to recognise, and stop eating, when I'm full. I'm eating more slowly and actually enjoying what I'm eating. I look in the mirror and don't feel despair at the 'fat' person staring back at me, instead I see a successful woman on a mission, who is going to be slim. Instead of dreading my holiday to the sun in a weeks time because of my weight, I'm looking forward to it as being my last 'fat' holiday. For the first time in my adult life I actually feel like I will be slim at last, and that the 'diet demons' are behind me.So how do you find the words to thank someone for all that.

Update: I have now lost 19lbs and still eating small portions and haven't touched chocolate since. Sept 2014
I went to see Sandie about my fear of choking on my saliva. I have a lump in my neck and needed to have a biopsy. When had a biopsy back in 2011the fear was awful. I had to lay flat and not swallow for 30 seconds while the procedure was carried out, and I was terrified. Even when I go to the dentist I cannot lay completely flat as I think I will choke on my phlegm. I was a bit nervous on my first visit to Sandie as I had never had hypnosis before and was slightly worried about what would happen. I needn't have been. Sandie asked me about my situation and made me feel at ease. The first session was relaxing and enlightening, although not much happened, however the second session was amazing!! Sandie took me back to the event which subsequently led to my fear of choking. As a young child of about 4, I was going down a slide when the toggles on my coat got caught at the top and I was slowly being strangled. My dad ran up the steps of the slide, and together with another man, were able to release me. It now all makes sense as to why lying flat and being unable to swallow would cause me so much fear. Sandie was able to treat the cause and I went for my biopsy without a care in the world. In fact, the doctor then decided I didn't need it after all and I was so disappointed I nearly begged him to do it anyway. Even my husband could not believe the change in me. I can even go to the dentist now and have treatments without any stress.

My son J is 13 years and has always been a bit of a worrier, but following our car being broken into on our drive his anxiety levels rose to a whole new level. He became paranoid about checking that doors were locked when we were inside the house and when we left it, rechecking it a few times and constantly shutting windows 'just in case', especially when it got dark, even when it was a warm night. His worries disturbed his sleep and started to affect his life and it began to impact on his friends and family as well.Having spoken to a doctor, who recommended counselling, I decided to try hypnotherapy as it really was important to change the way J was thinking. From the moment Sandie met J she made a shy and quiet teenager feel at ease. Through conversations with myself she had researched areas of his interests which helped to break the ice and enabled him to relax. J found the relaxation 'recording' that Sandie gave him at the end of his first session incredibly useful; he plays it to help him go to sleep and states that his best night's sleep is always after he has listened to it.Sandie's calm and professional manner enabled J to identify when he was 'under ' the factors that were causing his concerns and you could see his body language change and relax once he could release his worries. We are all grateful to Sandie as she has alleviated a young man's anxieties and enabled him to live his life, with a full night's sleep and without a constant checking of door handles and locks. He still checks the door when we go to sleep or leave the house but it is now only the once rather than a dozen times.I would recommend Sandie with out hesitation, her friendly persona and highly professional manner made the entire experience for both myself and J a positive, successful one.

My fear of spiders was getting out of control when I met Sandie. I would be jumping on furniture screaming and shaking at the mere sight of one in the room, shouting for my teenage son to 'rescue' me. After one session of NLP, I was totally surprised to find myself able to calmly look for a spider that had run into my cupbaord under the stairs to hide, and remove it from the house. Amazing!!!

Sandie was kind enough to make me a relaxation tape to help me when I was finding it difficult to sleep and feeling stressed. I would find going to sleep a real problem as my mind would never ‘ switch off `. By listening to Sandie's tape when I went to bed at night I quickly fell asleep. If I was feeling stressed during the day it was great to take ‘ time out `and listen to the tape to unwind.I would thoroughly recommend Sandie as a therapist. She has a calming voice and manner and is a great listener.

I first approached Sandie as I was suffering from severe exam anxiety. Afetr several hypnotherapy sessions, followed up by relaxation cd's from Sandie, I found that not only were my anxieties easing, but also that I could deal with and have closure on the root cause of my negativity and anxieties. This has proved to have a fundementally positive effect on my life. Not only was I able to sit my A-level exams this year ( without suffering any further panic attacks ) but I passed them and I am now about to leave for university!! A decision that, just a few months previously, I would never have even entertained!Overall, I feel the hypnotherapy was a very positive experience, that has helped me to overcome problems in my past, and to move forward with a more confident and determined approach to life. Many thanks Sandie.

Fear of Flying
Dear Sandie. To anyone else getting on a plane is like getting on a bus. Not to me! I point blank refused. ..until a single session with you. I flew to Las Vegas via Canada and back recently, so 2 flights there...2 back! We arrived home yesterday jetlagged but I'm thrilled. I had THE BEST holiday ???? my partner is happy as he no longer feels he has to fight me over holidays. Next month we are flyingvto Marrekesh for a 5 star business trip. I am now planning a trip to Brazil for 2017 AND I plan to visit a friend in Cyprus on my own. Totally unheard of before my session with you!!! Saying thank you seems very inadequate. With your help I have overcome my biggest fear. I have passed your name onto a number of friends. My eternal thanks. Angie xxx Sept 2016
For those of you without a fear of flying, you'll have no clue what I'm talking about.
I've had 30+ years of being terrified upon every takeoff and most landings.
Several nights before any flight, there was fitful, interrupted sleep. SOME might even say I was slightly short tempered, maybe even snappy.
Staring straight ahead, not a chance of looking out of the plane window until at least a few thousand feet up, gripping anything (or anyONE) available And the same as we come in to land.
FINALLY, after such a long time hating every flight but forcing myself to do it (sometimes with the aid of alcohol), decided I needed to do something about it.
Riduculously, it was fixed in an hour of hypnotherapy.
Hypnotherapist, Sandie Doyle, fixed it.
Sandie Doyle, cannot thank you enough.
Flying out of Bournemouth last week, I deliberately looked out of the window on takeoff to see if there were ANY feelings of panic, worry, etc..........NOTHING!!!
Flew back today. Happy, happy, happy that my fears that have affected more than half my life are gone. Des August 2016
Just want to say thank you so much Sandie for helping me to stop picking my nails. I haven't picked them in over a month and I've never done that before! I have recommended you and I will continue to do so. Had my first ever manicure today eekkk!! :) thank you again :) xx Abby May 2016
Hi Sandie, just had to put a note here. You need to know that you have made me a non-smoker. Together we have kicked the ridiculous habit into touch. I do not crave a cigarette at all and haven't since my miraculous session when I turned off all those parts of my brain that made me want to smoke. I cannot believe it - I have tried other methods by the truck load but this one really WORKS. Thank you so much Sandie, AGAIN!! See you soon and lots of love, Cheryl xx March 2015
