What is Cognitive Hypnotherapy?
Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a modern evidence based approach to emotional wellbeing and hypnosis which helps you change negative beliefs and emotional triggers hidden in your subconscious and alter your emotional responses to them.
Our brains are constantly changing and adapting to new information so this process creates new pathways of thinking in your brain which then change the way you see your world and you in it.
How I work
I offer a free initial zoom or phone call so you can find out more before booking your first session and understand how we might work together
Our first session will take a deeper look at identifying the patterns behind the behaviour you want to change and spend some time imagining what your future would look like without this. What would be different about your life and you in it?
This will allow me to put together a treatment plan targeted just to your needs. Cog Hyp offers us a really flexible framework for treatment using ideas and techniques from NLP, Hypnotherapy, EFT, EMI ( Eye Movement Integration ) Gestalt Therapy, Positive Psychology and Evolutionary Psychology so we can build a truly bespoke experience for you based on your particular needs.
As part of our sessions you will get:
- A personalised hypnosis recording written just for you, listening to this will cement the changes we make in our sessions
- Recommendations of things to read watch or listen to in between session that I think will help you
- Written instructions for techniques you can use at home to empower you
- I will offer you exceptionally high levels of support not only in our sessions but between session as needed.

I discovered Cognitive Hypnotherapy when I used it myself for issues around anxiety, confidence and limiting beliefs. It has changed my perception of myself and through that the world around me massively. I felt passionate about sharing the benefits of this with others which led me to train as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist. Training, qualifications & experience
I trained in Cognitive Hypnotherapy with its founder Trevor Silvester at the internationally recognised Quest Institute at Regents University in London. Quest Institute is the only hypnotherapy organisation and training school that has evidence-based research specific to our model of therapy. Our in-house funded research project is listed with NICE in their research area.
I hold a Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma which is the first nationally accredited externally verified Hypnotherapy qualification, and an NLP Practitioner & Master Practitioner diploma. I am a member of QCHPA, CNHC and NCH and adhere to their strict codes of ethics.
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
National Council for Hypnotherapy
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members.
There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
