About me

At Clifton Down Hypnotherapy I practise Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

In this form of hypnotherapy we use  a cognitive approach together with hypnotherapy  to move towards your required  goals.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy encourages you to use resources already within yourself to make the changes you require. We achieve this by focusing on the solutions rather than dwelling on problems of the past.

It is commonly assumed that you can explain your problems to the hypnotherapist who is able to hypnotize them away, but this is not the case.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is very much a partnership and joint effort between you and the hypnotherapist.

The hypnotherapist requires you to focus on the solutions which enables the hypnotherapist to help you make the necessary changes.

Training, qualifications & experience

My name is Philip Purser BSc., HPD, DSFH,AfSFH and I am passionate about my hypnotherapy work and how I can help others. I offer one hundred per cent commitment to working with those who come to me for solutions.I am a fully qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and the principal practitioner at Clifton Down Hypnotherapy.

I trained with the highly respected Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training (CPHT) body. CPHT is recognized internationally as a Centre of Excellence for hypnotherapy.

I hold the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma which is regarded as the 'gold standard' in this field. I update my knowledge and skills regularly.

I have a wide range of interests and a well-rounded experience of life, having worked as a teacher, a physicist, and in various capacities in the business world.

My broad life experience has contributed to my personal qualities which I would characterise as understanding, sensitive, and empathetic yet realistic.

I believe that these, together with the positive outcomes I have achieved, are the qualities my clients appreciate.
