Phil Turner BA(Hons), Dip.Hyp, GQHP
I'm a fully qualified hypnotherapy practitioner with a therapy room & office based in Exminster and run sessions most days in the week, including evenings and Saturday afternoons.
I have a relaxed & friendly approach to life, but am very serious about the benefits hypnotherapy can bring to people. I see a wide variety of clients with an equally wide variety of issues, all different, but the one thing they all have in common is that I individually tailor their Solution Focused Hypnotherapy treatment to suit them. But what does 'Solution Focused Hypnotherapy' actually mean?
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy
Simply put, it means we look at what you, the the client wants to achieve, rather than look for the causes behind the issues the client seeks to change. Together, we focus on the present & future and not on the past. As a therapist, I would ask the client to consider what sort of future they would like, how their life would be better, for example, if the problem had improved? What would have changed in their life?
Doing this enables the client to see what positive possibilities present and how solutions can be worked towards.
Your future is bursting with positive possibilties! Call me for a chat and let's start working towards those possibilities.
Training, qualifications & experience
- BA(Hons) specialising in Psychology (Open University)
- Dip. Hyp. in Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy (Mindworks, Nottingham)
- NLP Coaching Diploma (Frank Daniels Associates, Crich, Derbyshire)
- GHR registered
As a professional hypnotherapy practitioner, I have professional insurance and undertake to do several hours of Continual Professional Development (CPD) each year, in order to keep up to date with hypnotherapy techniques and developments.
The General Hypnotherapy Register
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).
Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.
All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
I offer a free, initial, no obligation, 30 - 40 min consultation*. (though it may last longer if neccesary). The reason for this initial meeting is to talk to the client and to discuss what they really want or need and then jointly decide upon our objectives. Hypnotherapy really is team work!
No two people are alike, so the better I get to know you as an individual, the better we can tailor your therapy to suit your individual needs, should you decide to go ahead with therapy. Subsequent fees are £50 per 60 minute session.
Prior to training as a hypnotherapist, I had a 33 year career in the NHS, working with patients. It was here I learned that discretion, privacy & confidentiality are vitally important to a theraputic relationship and I carried this over into my therapy practice.
My therapy room is attached to a private house, with no signs that indicate that the practice is here. To the rest of the world, you are just another visitor to my home, so discretion, privacy & confidentiality are maintained.
