About me

I am Peter, a professional, qualified and registered Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist.

I thoroughly enjoy helping my clients to reach their goals, whatever the reason that you may come to see me, from weight management to anxiety and depression to personal performance, hypnotherapy can help. I offer a caring and confidential service which is tailored to your individual needs, and my sessions are designed to be relaxing and reduce anxiety. It is always a pleasure to see my clients taking control and making the most of their life.

My clinic provides a calm space to positively move forward, so that I can help you to achieve your goals, reduce your stress and overcome the challenges that you are facing. In a relatively short space of time, my approach can make significant life changes to help you resolve unwelcome habits and create positive thought patterns at a subconscious level.

I practice Solution Focused Hypnotherapy to help you get results under the NHS guidelines which includes the proven techniques of Hypnotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. In addition to Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy I have trained in Neuro Linguistic Programming, Solution Focused BRIEF Therapy and The Neuroscience of Perception.

Why I practice Hypnotherapy

I found Hypnotherapy when a series of life changing events left me at a crossroads and I didn't know where to turn. I tried a number of therapies with varying degrees of success.  Then I found Solution Focused Hypnotherapy which helped me overcome my anxiety and depression. Hypnotherapy empowered me, allowed me to 'change my outlook' and to focus on a positive future. I decided to train as a hypnotherapist as a way to help others to overcome obstacles in their lives.  I have found it to be an incredible tool to help people achieve their best outcomes.

My training was rigorous and I continue to enhance my knowledge by attending regular workshops and seminars. I have a BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences. I have a DSFHP (Diploma in Solution Focus Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy) and HPD (Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma) the 'Gold Standard of Hypnotherapy' accredited jointly by the National Council for Hypnotherapy and NCFE (National Council for Further Education).

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Stress & Anxiety

Stress and Anxiety are normal 'fight and flight' responses to ensure our survival in dangerous situations, however in everyday life, these reactions are seldom required. Of course modern day life can be challenging but too often our brain will misinterpret the constant bombardment of life's situations and the result of this becomes anxiety and stress.

Clinical Hypnotherapy is a talking therapy which helps to reduce anxiety and stress by focusing on your desired future and providing you with tools to help you to move towards it. Looking forwards creates a mental visualisation of a stress free environment whereas looking backwards can exacerbate or recreate the anxiety responses.
