I am a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist with extensive experience working in NHS settings and private practice to individuals experiencing a wide range of problems. I have a passion for helping clients work through their emotional problems and life challenges to create a healthier perspective and maintain their sense of wellbeing. I have special interest and experience in panic attacks, stress management, anxiety and depression related issues.
Working collaboratively, I provide a safe space, respecting confidentiality, to enable you to gain insight, new perspectives and overcome negative blocks that hold you back. As well as draw upon and enhance your positive resources and life skills that are often overlooked when we are faced with personal challenges.
What I offer
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH) is an integrated psychological approach using both hypnotherapy and CBT. Research shows that these two therapies suit each other very well, with outcome research demonstrating a 70 per cent greater improvement for clients undergoing CBH than those using CBT alone (Kirsch et al. 1995). With an experienced practitioner, you are getting two effective therapies for the price of one.
The way I work
I can promise you that I will do my best to listen and understand your problem through your current perspective and together we will work towards a healthier outcome and goal that is meaningful to you. I really appreciate that all people are individuals, so therefore I will respect and tailor my approach in a non-prescriptive way and at a pace that will challenge, yet not overwhelm you.
I like to think that there is a great opportunity for growth and self-empowerment out of adversity and it is possible to feel a great sense of personal achievement when we choose to work through our problems, instead of avoid them, which only results in increased emotional upset in the long run. Our sessions can also focus on capitalising on our strengths, creating new strategies for performance management to enable you to experience a more fulfilling and successful life.
With your commitment, our journey together, will be motivational, warm, insightful and even fun at times… learning and growth is not necessarily all about pain you know.
