About me

Practice Philosophy

Here at Wessex Counties ‘Specialist Therapies’ my aim is to help you achieve lasting positive change using both hypnotherapy & traditional counselling skills. The Practice specialises in helping to resolve the following conditions; Although not exclusively.

       Excess weight reduction

       Alcohol dependence or misuse

       Low self-worth/esteem beliefs

       ‘Triggered’ Panic Attacks

       Psycho-sexual disorders

I'm a highly experienced professional, who is also happy to work with clients across a wide range of conditions that can be addressed, improved or resolved through hypnotherapy suggestion or more in-depth hypno-analysis work. My background as a Registered Mental Nurse also enables me to work directly with a broader range of conditions than might be the case with some other hypnotherapists.

My Philosophy is under-pinned by the concept that each client can accept responsibility for their own treatment and can make an 'informed' choice around how to achieve their goals.

Each client’s 'Treatment Plan' is discussed and mapped-out at an initial consultation which is an assessment of individual needs, and to facilitate a 'get to know one another' session.

This ‘Person-centered' concept puts each client in control of their treatment, progress and eventual outcome, with guidance and support from the therapist. ...You can do it..! But You don't have to do it alone...

I very much looks forward to hearing from you and, working with you to help you to a more enriched life, and in you fulfilling your true potential.

Don’t Stand at The Cross-Roads of Your Life any longer…Move Forward Now

My approach to Therapy:

I use a style of hypnotherapy known as WSN+. It is a highly effective method of hypnotherapy. Allowing ‘bespoke’ treatment pathways to be developed and delivered on an individual basis following a robust ‘Initial Assessment’ session of 60-90 minutes duration.

My aim is to work in collaboration with each client to help them 'un-learn' old disruptive, negative thoughts & behaviors and to 'learn' to construct more positive, healthy and effective ways of thinking, feeling and behaving when challenged with 'life-stressors' without the need to revert to those 'old' patterns of dealing with those circumstances or situations. These lasting positive changes are achieved and maintained through entering into a structured course of hypnotherapy.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been a practicing Hypnotherapist since 2012, both in London and Wiltshire. But have forty years experience working in the field of mental health both in Clinical, Managerial, and Staff Support roles as a Registered Mental Nurse across the UK.

More recently I was privileged to work for a year in India at a Residential Hospice for patients with advanced HIV as both nurse & therapist, helping individuals with 'pain management', and to come to terms with the prospect of 'imminent' end-of-life. Alongside this I also held Clinics for members of the local 'Trans-gender' community, facilitating psycho-sexual and counselling support to this group.
