About me

Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy - Research-proven mental health therapy

QCH is cutting-edge, evidence-based hypnotherapy / hypnosis for children (6+), teens and adults, a modern therapy framework tapping into the amazing power of your subconscious mind to help with a wide range of conditions.

It's highly tailored, flexible, patient-centric approach seamlessly incorporates tools and techniques derived from a wide range of successful and proven therapies, including traditional hypnotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP,) Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and counselling, Solution-Focused, Positive and Evolutionary Psychology, traditional Psychotherapy and others.

QCH's first peer reviewed study published in 2015 using standardised measures for anxiety and depression (GAD-7 and PHQ-9) showed a 71% success rate (see https://www.qchpa.com/evidence-based-therapy/ for more info).

I currently have four busy Cognitive Hypnotherapy practices, two in West Kent (Four Elms near Sevenoaks, and Tunbridge Wells), one in Central London (near Farringdon), and one in Coulsdon on the South London / Surrey border.  I'm also happy to do Skype / FaceTime sessions.

I've been a practicing Cognitive Hypnotherapist since training with the Quest Institute in 2007, and have worked in both private practice and mainstream mental health during this time with thousands of clients aged from just 6 years old (including a number with autistic spectrum disorders) to over 80. I'm an accredited member of the National Council For Hypnotherapy (NCH), registered with the government-backed Complimentary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and am fully CRB / DBS checked on a regular basis to work with children and young people.

I have special interests in using Cognitive Hypnotherapy for Eating Disorders (particularly alongside the New Maudsely Approach pioneered by Jane Treasure, Grainne Smith and Anna Crane) to help treat anorexia, bulimia and binge eating, Cognitive Hypnotherapy for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and working with children (from age 6) and teenagers on their issues as well as adults of all ages.

Over my career I've used Cognitive Hypnotherapy to help patients with a diverse range of issues including...

Phobias (fear of flying, fear of dentists etc)
Addictions and habits
Anxiety and panic attacks
School issues (exam nerves, academic performance)
Lack of confidence (fear of public speaking, shyness, social anxiety)
Stress and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Depression
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Sports issues including optimising sports performance
Life coaching
Weight loss
Cognitive Hypnotherapy to Stop Smoking
Relationship counselling / issues
and many other interesting areas !

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Fees

Additional information

Session costs are generally in line with other hypnotherapists in the area, but vary somewhat depending on location due to room overheads so please take a look at my website http://www.htherapy.co.uk for more information.

I accept all major credit and debit cards, cheques and cash.

I'm an accredited therapist for Pru Health and Simply Health, so if you have private health cover with these companies then session costs can often be covered, with an appropriate referral from a GP or consultant and authorisation from the insurer - please contact me for further information.

When I work

Varies according to location, but normally daytime, after-school, evening and Saturday sessions are available - please take a look at my website for the latest information.
