Why choose to book with me?
- I offer a therapy that is tailored to your needs and the way you think
- You have my full ethical non-judgemental attention to understand what you specifically need and my experience to guide you towards your solution state. I am a fully qualified and insured cognitive hypnotherapist and NLP master practitioner.

- I tend to recommend a course of six sessions for most clients as it gives us time to make a lot of progress.

- Email or phone support in between sessions.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a hypnotherapy practitioner diploma (HPD), which is externally verified and accredited by the NCFE, a National Awarding Body, and meets all the learning outcomes of the National Occupational Standards for Hypnotherapy in the UK, as well as being validated by the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH).
I trained with Trevor Silvester at the internationally renowned Quest Institute. This lead to a Diploma in Cognitive Hypnotherapy. I also obtained my status as NLP Master Practitioner with them.
Graduation after training with the Quest Institute is achieved through the submission of the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma, which is externally validated by the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH). I am a member of the CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council), the only organisation endorsed by the Department of Health. The DoH recommends that people looking for a complementary healthcare practitioner choose one who is CNHC-registered.
I trained with the National Childbirth Trust and became one of their Antenatal Teachers, running courses from 1997.
I then became a Natal Hypnotherapy Practitioner and a Confident Childbirth Practitioner (www.PregnancyMatters.co.uk)
I also have a PhD in Neuroscience from University College London.
National Council for Hypnotherapy
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members.
There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
I mostly work in blocks of six sessions. My sessions last 60 to 90 minutes and the charge (for a block of 6) is £880 (daytime), £1000 (evening) or £1180 (weekend).
I would like to encourage you to come for a free 20 to 30-minute face to face consultation (or to have a chat on the phone) to help you decide if I am the right therapist. You can book such an appointment with this link: www.MurielBouvier.com/initial
A smoking-cessation session (about 3 hours) is charged at £600 (daytime) or £750 (weekend). This includes four months of support (including hypnotherapy sessions) after our main session for clients who need it.
At the moment, I accept payment by cash, cheque, card or bank transfer.
