When you have resolved the problem that has prompted you to seek help - how will your life be then? I help my clients resolve their issues by concentrating on 1) dealing with the root cause of the problem and 2) helping clients develop practical new ways of dealing with the challenges that they face. As well as working with root causes and developing new patterns of behaviour, I also provide my clients with:

  • A safe, supportive, compassionate and encouraging environment.
  • Sessions that are specifically tailored to each client using a blend of Clinical Hypnotherapy, Coaching, NLP and EFT.
  • Help to engage the immense power of their mind (both conscious and unconscious) to make the changes they want by helping them to gain new perspectives and to see that actually they DO have a range of choices and solutions available to them.
  • Insight that every person has great abilities, strengths and resources on which they can draw to help them heal and transform. The problem is that most people have lost touch with and forgotten their own power, creativity and strength. The therapeutic methods that I work with are very powerful in enabling people to re-connect with these parts of themselves – and this helps bring about the changes they desire in their lives.
  • Practical experience that the clients who are most committed, get the best results - the client's commitment to resolving their issues is absolutely key, as this is where the true power to change lies. I think this is beautifully illustrated by Henry Ford's words "if you think you can do a thing, or think you can't do a thing, you are right".

Training, qualifications & experience

Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy, NLP and Coaching
After recovering astonishingly quickly and permanently from a debilitating physical condition using a hypnotherapy, NLP and coaching based programme, I decided to learn for myself how to utilise the power of the mind-body connection, to fully resolve physical, psychological and emotional issues.

I trained with Phil Parker, a leader in the field of personal development achieving a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy, NLP and Coaching.

Key areas of the training included:

How to transform destructive understandings, conflicts, behaviour and thought patterns through the combined application of:

Clinical Hypnotherapy – engaging a whole host of tools, including the application of Ericksonian techniques in achieving rapid and long lasting changes in behaviours.

Coaching – helping clients to see their situation, their goals and their strengths, much more clearly. Emphasis on helping clients find their own answers and help them implement their solutions.

NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) - NLP processes have been developed to help people resolve compulsive, unconscious, automatic behaviours as well as past traumas and inner conflict. How many times have you resolved to behave differently, but find yourself doing the same old behaviours, that you don’t want to do?  Consciously deciding to stop doing something is the first step. We then need to find out what is driving the behaviour unconsciously and deal with it - and NLP has some brilliant ways of doing this.

AAMET Accredited Certified EFT Practitioner
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique also known as “tapping”) is one of the holistic energy psychologies that combines Western mind-based therapy, with Eastern understandings about our body’s energy system. It’s very easy to learn and to do.

Quite simply, EFT combines physically tapping on some of the body’s acupressure points, while talking about a negative emotion, behavior, event, situation or physical symptom that is causing emotional distress.  It has been described as emotional acupuncture without needles and it works by rebalancing the body’s energy system.

It is an excellent tool for helping us to often uncover and then safely process the root cause of a negative feeling, behaviour or physical discomfort.  Therefore a key part of EFT is learning to listen to the thoughts, memories, perspectives, emotions and physical sensations that arise as we start using EFT on an issue.

Introduction to Biblical Counselling

Recognised by the ACC (Association of Christian Counsellors) as providing 50 hours' foundation training. This course deepened my appreciation of the importance of a person's spiritual understandings when dealing with emotional problems.

Basic Skills in Counselling
A great introduction to learning the art of listening, empathising with and supporting others.

DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) - Basic Disclosure applied for and received in May 2014.

I offer a free of charge initial 30 minute consultation, usually by phone.

Session Lengths
Sessions are usually 90 minutes to enable my clients to make progress as quickly and effectively as possible.

60 minute sessions are also available.

Fee Levels
Face to face sessions:  90 minute session: £90

                                      60 minute session: £60

Skype / FaceTime:        90 minute session: £75

Session Availability
Daytime appointments are available each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. There is regular availability on Saturdays.

Evening appointments are available on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Session Location
These are held in the tranquil countryside location of Loudwater Farm. The Farm has plenty of parking and excellent travel connections, being just a couple of minutes away from the M25 (junction 18, Chorleywood).

Number of Sessions
I strongly recommend that prospective clients commit to engaging in a minimum of four 90 minute sessions. During this short timeframe I routinely find that clients make significant progress towards resolving the issue that prompted them to work with me.

Frequency of Sessions
I recommend that clients usually allow a space of between one and two weeks between each session, to give them time to reflect and recognise the impact of the positive changes that they make during sessions.
