About me

Hello, my name is Michele Knott Simey and I am a clinical hypnotherapist/psychotherapist.

I live and work in the Sherwood area of Nottingham which very close to the city centre and just off the main A60.

In the first instance, I  am happy to provide a free initial consultation over the phone.  Please contact me via phone or email to book. During this free session,  we would discuss whatever is troubling you and find a way to overcome this. Together we decide the best way forwards for you, whether that may be weekly, fortnightly or just a one off session at my lovely, comfortable, therapy room. Everything we discuss together is fully confidential.

After over a decade of working in person centred care and education, I decided to train as a hypnotherapist. I made this decision as a result of witnessing people suffering from anxiety and extreme sadness. I had researched alternative therapies and concluded that hypnotherapy was the most effective and enjoyable experience.

After I qualified, I continued my work in the community, often providing my hypnotherapy service for free, as I knew it was of great benefit to the people I encountered.  Since January 2018 I have been working full time as a hypnotherapist and I have helped so many people with so many different issues.  My specialities are anxiety, stress, confidence building, smoking cessation and weight management, sports performance and public speaking.  I also work with wedding nerves for brides, grooms, best men and fathers of the brides. This list however is not exhaustive.

Training, qualifications & experience

Fully insured, I am trained in hypnotherapy, to diploma level and I'm proud to have studied with Innervisions School Of Clinical Hypnotherapy. I am a registered member of the GHR and regularly undertake professional development to keep up to date with all the latest innovations and developments in the field of alternative therapy.

If you pop over to my Facebook page you will find plenty of fantastic reviews from previous happy clients, lots of whom I now count as friends.

My experience in the field of alternative therapy is vast and my clients teach me new things every day. If you're ready to be the best possible version of yourself, then let me show you how to access the power of your own amazing mind.  You have all of the tools you need to be the best you can me. I just guide you in using them.

Hypnotherapy is an extremely enjoyable and effective treatment for so, so many issues.  So book in for that free consultation with me and let's get you to where you want to be.

I am also trained in Indian Head Massage Therapy and often use this in support of my hypnotherapy practice. This therapy is especially helpful for people who store tension in their upper back and neck. Who suffer from headaches/migraines and sinus pain. It even helps to relieve anxiety and stress.

Member organisations

The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

I am fully insured and I am able to assist with extreme nerves/anxiety associated with such things as driving on motor ways, driving tests, dental phobia, fear of flying and wedding nerves for all of the important participants.

In addition to this I can offer past life regression for small groups or individuals.  This being the only part of the hypnotherapy process that cannot be proven (for obvious reasons) it can only be used for curiosity/fun purposes.

Key details

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Hypnotherapist's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Hypnotherapist to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Although my dedicated therapy room is upstairs, I can make provision for clients in a private downstairs room. Driveway parking is available.
