Training, qualifications & experience

Michaela Klaffenböck, Dip.C.Hyp/NLP; GHR, GHSC and CNHC registered and DBS checked

I am an experienced therapist, working with a diverse range of clients and issues.

For example, I have worked with young offenders at a YOI to support them in overcoming stress, insomnia, anxiety, grief, anger, self-defeating behaviour patterns and various other issues they presented me with, using a variety of therapeutic approaches. Since then I feel very passionate about helping young people to overcome their difficulties and thrive in these challenging times.

Having worked as a management consultant for many years, I understand the levels of stress and burnout that so many people are currently experiencing and enjoy supporting people in finding a way that leads back to a more balanced approach to life.

I love helping people with animal related phobias and fears to restore the joy of connecting and bringing people and animals back into harmony.

Member organisations

Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Teenage anxiety and stress

Animal related phobias and fears

Free initial telephone session

Additional information

In a free, no obligation telephone consultation of approx. 15-20 minutes, (we will arrange a mutually convenient time), you have the opportunity to tell me what you would like help with and to find out a bit more about how I work and how I would propose to work with you. If you feel that my approach is a good fit for your needs, I will give you an estimate of how many sessions I think you are likely to need to resolve your issue and how much it is likely to cost you. My rates are reasonable and competitive but as with the therapy itself, there is no “one size fits all”.

For single sessions the price range is between £60 and £90 depending on the length of the session, your requirements and income bracket.

How do I work?

I work on the premise that all of us have an ‘inner knowing’ and access to the resources and answers we need to bring about the changes we desire when we are open and curious.

I love helping people to realize that they are powerful creators who can shape their own reality by paying close attention to their thoughts, setting intentions and focusing on positive outcomes.

Whether we meet in person, online or over the phone, you can expect a warm welcome and a safe space to explore your issue confidentially, without pressure and without being judged.

You will gain a new perspective on the issue that you would like to work on and learn practical ways to overcome it.

I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation if you need support between sessions to keep you on track.

Currently, anxiety and regression therapy are the most common issues people contact me about.

Anxiety is on the increase and even people who have successfully learnt to manage it in the past are again struggling, as recent events feel overwhelming and traumatic and the situation we find ourselves in individually and collectively is without precedent in terms of the uncertainty we face.

I can help with individualised strategies and tools for managing and overcoming anxiety and stress and feeling safer and more centred and grounded. Please get in touch for more specific information and a free 15-20 minute consultation.

This method is based on the work of Bert Hellinger's Systemic Family Constellations and we will work in a light trance state, bringing in  "Representatives" of your problems or challenges. This way of working is excellent for gaining deep insights, as we are working with higher consciousness.

Past Life Regression Therapy and Quantum Healing Hypnosis Therapy (QHHT)

More and more people are wondering whether they have lived before and would like to explore the notion, or they have had recent experiences, e.g. with people they have recently met and feel like they "have known them forever".

I offer "traditional" past life regression and also the method developed by the late Dolores Cannon, which she called Quantum Healing Hypnosis Therapy (QHHT)

What you can expect

In traditional past life regression you will be guided back in time and space to one or two past lives, selected by your subconscious mind, to give you the most relevant insights into the challenges you are experiencing in this current life. The session is just under 90 minutes long and you are typically able to remember the sensations and information you received upon coming out of the trance state. The benefits can include understanding where deep seating patterns originate from, getting a better understanding of challenging relationships, understanding and releasing fears and phobias or physical pain or limitations to name but a few.

QHHT sessions are typically around three hours long. We will initially discuss the context of your life (e.g. work, important relationships, big events, challenges) after which you are able to give me a list of questions that you would like to find the answers to. You will then be guided into a trance state, which resembles the Somnambulistic state - a much deeper state of trance than in "traditional" past life journeys. Again, your subconscious will select the most relevant past lives for you to learn from. I encourage you to record these sessions as you are likely to completely bypass the conscious mind and may not remember the messages and insights received, especially the answers to your chosen questions. They may be given from a very high level, depending on the frequency you are able to tune into on the day. The benefits are similar to working in the more traditional way but generally come from a much higher level of consciousness.

These are just brief insights into the methods I use. Please get in touch if you would like me to explain the processes in greater detail and answer any questions you may have.
