Martin Williams HPD, MNCH (Reg), APHP
Hi, my name is Martin and my priority is enabling you to gain freedom from whatever is troubling you or holding you back. I am flexible in my approach and willing to deal with whatever you need to resolve. I work with honesty and humour so that your recovery will be a pleasant and rewarding experience.
I provide personalised individually designed Hypnotherapy, which can include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Eye Movement Rapid De-sensitisation, Mindfulness and other therapies. By combining these techniques, I am able to help to resolve the issue in a way that works best for you.
I am used to working with people who have complex and challenging lives, I am non-judgemental and happy to talk with you about any types of issues that are affecting you. I aim to get you results quickly and effectively, Hypnotherapy is a "Brief intervention therapy" which means that it is focused on getting noticeable results in no more than six sessions; many issues can be resolved in a single session.
As with any therapy there are no absolute guarantees, I will do my best at all times to get you the results you want and to help you cope with issues that have no easy resolution. I am happy to work in conjunction with other therapists and health professionals where appropriate.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at the multi award winning Central England College where I completed the H.P.D. (Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma) which is the gold standard of qualifications and the one recognised by the health service. I also completed a Diploma course with Dr David Kato in dealing with weight issues and O.C.D.
I am trained to provide Hypnotic Gastric Band treatment though this is only used in extreme cases and as part of a programme of treatment, it should not be considered a starting point or one off treatment because of the complex issues involved.
I am a trained Mindfulness teacher and have recently run a series of successful courses. Mindfulness is particularly helpful in the prevention of depressive illness relapse. I have a dedicated site for this with useful articles that you may find helpful at http:// www.mindfulnessforlife.org.uk
I am bound by a strict code of conduct, your confidentiality is legally controlled. I am registered with the Data Protection Agency and am fully insured.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
Information about health conditions (*)
Nutritional therapy can help enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting nutritional therapy or making any major changes to your diet or lifestyle.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
I have ticked the primary areas of my work but many other issues are treated by similar methods. If you have an issue that is not listed email or phone me and we can decide if i am able to help you.
I also have an interest in issues around sexuality / acceptance / confidence and can help you with associated issues.
- The standard fee is £65 per session. The initial consultation takes up to 90 minutes and subsequent sessions are normally an hour. I provide support by email following sessions and where appropriate provide back up CD or mp3 recordings for home use.
- Mindfulness courses can be provided on a one to one basis or in a group setting at a cost of £250 for an eight week course
- Smoking Cessation is provided as part of the Quit4Life programme and takes about 90 minutes with a recommended price of £160 ( a small % of your annual cigarette cost) and any followup sessions if wanted at £80 however this price is negotiable.
For those on limited incomes I may be able to reduce some fees, depending on specific circumstances. I charge slightly below the national rate because some parts of Gwynedd (where i principally work) are considered low income areas and would not want people to miss out on good therapy because of cost issues.
The Tan y Maen centre is on the main street which runs through Blaenau Ffestiniog so is easily found. it is located opposite the Church. There is free parking, signposted, close by. Both mainline trains and the Ffestiniog railway run to the centre of town and the bus station is beside the railway station, both are a 3 minute walk from Tan y Maen. The centre offers a range of therapies and is used by many support agencies.
