About me

I am a fully qualified Clinical, Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, based in Bromyard with access to therapy rooms in Bromyard, Ludlow and Worcester.  My specialist area is stress/anxiety and depression. I am also a qualified Medical Hypnotherapist and able to help clients to cope with life-threatening illnesses, palliative care, chronic pain and fears/phobias. This includes fear of needles or emetophobia.

I have undertaken voluntary work in a local hospice and have successfully helped clients with the above issues, to include dealing with bereavement.

My past experience in HR, Training, Coaching and Counselling has given me the opportunity to encourage and support others so that they are able to meet their own goals and aspirations.

What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, a form of 'talk therapy' uses practical, modern and well-researched strategies to help clients make significant, positive changes to their lives in a relatively short period of time. The approach focuses on the present and future and not on the past. I work with clients to consider their preferred future, for instance, what would be better if the problem had improved? What would have changed? This enables the client’s possible solutions to become more apparent and worked towards. Hypnosis itself reduces anxiety and this is done very simply through relaxation and visualization, allowing the client to focus on the positive aspects of their lives that encourage a shift in perspective.

This type of treatment can help with Confidence and Self-Esteem problems. It can also help (if necessary in conjunction with medication) in the treatment of Depression, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Agoraphobia and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Plus phobias such as spiders, water, flying and public speaking can also be minimised, along with painful memories and traumatic experiences.

I offer an Initial Consultation at a reduced rate (30), to explain how I work and what I can to help you cope better.

What to expect in my sessions

The first part of the session is 'Talk Therapy', using tried and tested techniques to identify the desired outcome.  Hypnotic Relaxation is used for the second part of the session to help reduce stress and anxiety.  An MP3 version or CD of the Hypnotic Relaxation is given out to my clients, free of charge to be used in each evening between sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma, Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and a Medical Hypnotherapy Qualification to help clients with medical and dental issues.

My experience as a Solution Focused Clinical Psychotherapist and Hypnotherapist, and in life generally, has shown me time and time again how very easy it can be to change our lives for the better by taking just small steps towards achieving what we want to achieve.

I trained as a clinical hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist through the highly acclaimed Clifton Practice in Bristol. I have undertaken further training in hypnotherapy for helping people with eating disorders, quit smoking and enhancing sports performance. Also, I have studied and adapted the use of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming).
