About me

I am a fully qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist.  I have a keen interest in the human mind and am focused on enabling my clients to get where they want to be, whether that’s becoming fear free, free from anxiety, reducing weight or breaking a habit. Whatever the problem or issue, my aim is to help you find a solution.

I have a down to earth approach whilst at the same time maintaining a compassionate, non-judgmental focus. I am passionate about people connecting with who they truly are.  I take pride in my ability to connect with everyone I work with.

I always offer a free consultation for all clients, from this consultation we can work out a plan for the therapy and tailor it to the individual needs.

I primarily work within the Wakefield & West Yorkshire area, however clients from the surrounding areas are very welcome, I can also offer virtual therapy via Skype, Facebook or other stable online platforms.

Hypnotherapy

The actual experience of hypnosis is very difficult to describe. There is little difference between hypnosis and daydreaming, or becoming involved in a good book or television program.

It is an altered state of awareness which everyone experiences naturally – it’s that lovely feeling that one experiences just before going to sleep at night, or as you come out of sleep in the morning. Generally you will be aware of what is going on around you and of what the therapist is saying to you, you will remember a lot of what has happened in your session, and throughout, you are always in control. It is really important to understand that nobody can be hypnotised against their will and even when hypnotised, people can reject any suggestions that do not fit in with their own set of personal belief systems and their own personal integrity.

What is Hypnotherapy?

It is often successful when other, more conventional methods of treatment have failed.

Hypnotherapy means the use of hypnosis for the treatment and relief of a variety of somatic and psychological symptoms. It can bring relief to existing conditions or to change areas where there are issues. With hypnotherapy it is possible to work with and transform the thoughts that lead to self-limiting beliefs – mainly this is achieved through using complete mental and physical relaxation and visualization techniques. It is vital to have the cooperation of the patient.

Hypnotherapy is completely natural and safe and there are no harmful side effects. When administered by a professionally trained and skilled Clinical Hypnosis Practitioner the benefits are long lasting and often permanent.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist, I trained with the Innervisions School of Clinical Hypnosis which is one of the UK’s leading hypnotherapy training providers.

I am a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR), the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC) and the Complemetary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

I have successfully completed an Hypnosis foundation and Kinetic Shift course with the UK Hypnosis Academy - Kinetic Shift is a fantastic technique which has amazing results.

Member organisations

CNHC

Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

GHR

The General Hypnotherapy Register

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a hypnotherapist's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the hypnotherapist to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
