I am a qualified Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist with training in Psychotherapy and CBT skills, have a diploma in Medical Hypnotherapy and am also an NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) Practitioner and tutor.
My own life experiences have shown me that constructive, long lasting change is achievable. This has made me passionate about guiding others towards constructive and lasting changes in their lives, and in helping to improve their wellbeing.
I recently moved to North Somerset and have set up a Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy and NLP Therapy Practice from a calm and peaceful location on the edge of Wrington Village.
My work experience includes having worked as a tutor for Bristol City Council running confidence courses and also coaching adults with issues such as low self-esteem, poor social skills or substance dependencies in finding their own tools and inner resources for positive change in behaviour, and in getting the life they want.
What is Solution Focused Therapy?
Solution Focused Therapies are essentially a collaborative partnership between therapist and client, focusing on the changes that are most important to you. It is a brief therapy, enabling you to move forward from problems and create positive change in a short space of time. These beneficial effects are often achieved more quickly as the focus is not on the problem, but rather on the goals that you most wish to achieve, using your own strengths and resources.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is the bringing together of the conscious and subconscious minds in a trance state. It is a safe, powerful technique creating a deeply relaxed state of the body, mind and emotions. It is actually a perfectly natural state that we often experience in our everyday lives, for instance when reading a book, watching television, or repeating everyday tasks. The therapist guides you into a relaxed trance state by the sound of their voice. It is perfectly safe as no one can be hypnotised against their will, or made to accept suggestions that are not appropriate.
How Can Hypnosis Help?
The pressures of modern life can get on top of us before we realise what is happening. This can lead to stress, anxiety, panic attacks, fears, phobias, depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), sleep disturbance, weight gain, weight loss, dependencies, smoking and many other difficulties and conditions.
This can become a vicious cycle – our behaviours and negative thought patterns increase our stress levels and make the symptoms of that stress more acute, which in turn reinforces those negative behaviours and thought patterns. I use a combination of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming to work with you, to help you find effective and long lasting solutions to these difficulties and conditions.
