About me

Hello, my name is Lauren Clark and I help women who are suffering from stress and anxiety build confidence and calmness into their lives, so they can take control and have the freedom to be their true selves.

Anxiety and stress are umbrella terms for many issues and symptoms and each problem can present differently from person to person.

You may be suffering from social anxiety, health anxiety, panic attacks or intrusive thoughts - but the root cause of these issues is always the same, meaning my model of therapy can help enormously to get these problems under control for you.

Just like anxiety, stress may show up physically whereby you are suffering from hair loss or acne - or perhaps you are struggling to sleep at night and are constantly exhausted. We work together to focus on the more positive things in your life and week by week, you and your brain are guided towards making the change you so desperately need.

What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a forward looking and positive therapy that means we don’t need to revisit the past. I will never ask you to describe anything painful, upsetting or traumatic as this only causes discomfort! It is a mixture of a talking therapy and hypnosis, so you will leave each session feeling uplifted, motivated, relaxed and quite importantly - ready to make changes.

I will teach you about your brain and body using up to date neuroscience and research which allows you to gain understanding of how you work and why you feel the way that you do. It is here that you can begin to take back control of your life!

You will typically need anywhere from 6-12 sessions of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, although some people need less and some feel like they need more. The main thing is that we work very quickly to get you feeling like yourself again.

What can I expect?

I offer a free no obligation consultation that lasts anywhere from 30-45 minutes. This allows me to get to know you and for you to see if the therapy is the right fit for you, but also to see if I am the right fit for you as a therapist.

From here, should you wish to proceed, we will get you booked in for your first session and I will send you my free MP3 recording that will help you to improve your sleep.

Each session looks a little something like this:

  1. What's been good?
  2. Brain revision that is specific to your needs.
  3. Goal setting and picture building.
  4. Trance.

You will know when you are coming to the end of your hypnotherapy journey and you will be able to tell me when you feel like you are finished with the sessions. Many clients like to 'wean' off so to speak and have sessions every two weeks, then monthly and so on. Some clients even like to consistently have one session per month as a little 'top up', but what your journey looks like is completely up to you!

What is trance?

Trance is a completely natural process and we actually go into trance many times a day! Have you ever been driving and suddenly realized you've been day dreaming and got from A to B as if you were on auto-pilot?... or have you ever been so engrossed in a good book or TV series that you didn't even notice somebody walk into the room?

That is trance!

It is a focused state of attention and by using this lovely guided relaxation at the end of each session, we are essentially cementing all of the wonderful, positive and interesting things discussed during the session into your brain; helping the therapeutic process enormously.

Training, qualifications & experience


I trained with the Clifton Practice for Hypnotherapy Training, one of the highest regarded hypnotherapy schools in the UK, and have many hours of clinical experience under my belt.

I currently have my Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and I am awaiting the confirmation of having achieved my Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma.

Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) was set up to provide information about a modern form of Hypnotherapy and its associated benefits to members of the public. The main aim of the AfSFH is to spread awareness of the benefits of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Its secondary aim is to support Hypnotherapists in their businesses by encouraging good practice and self-care.


Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.


National Council for Hypnotherapy

The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members.

There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
