Laura Greene MBACP, APHP, DIP COUNS & HYP B.A. HONS
Suite 28 Building 10
I am a fully qualified hypnotherapist working with adults, children and adolescents, helping individuals to overcome difficulties that feel out of their control. I work with specific issues that are inhibiting people's lives, as well as offering hypnoanalysis to adults, which clears the psyche of past issues that contribute to current struggles, in order to lead a more fulfilling life in its entirety.
My approach to hypnotherapy is wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable, where you remain in control at all times. I provide a full explanation of the process at the initial consultation, however, please feel free to ask any questions beforehand.
My private practice is located in Kingshill, West- Malling, in a quiet location with free onsite parking and is easily accessible from Aylesford, Maidstone, Snodland, Medway, Sevenoakes and Tonbridge.
My approach is warm, supportive and non- judgemental, where I am also a qualified counsellor and uphold the highest level of confidentiality possible. The therapy I offer is highly effective in enabling people to reach their goals, to overcome difficulties, or process past traumas. I have trained in various areas. Please contact me to see how I can help your specific needs.
I work with children from four years old for play therapy and six years old for hypnotherapy, through to adulthood. There is a different approach I use with young children, in order to engage their imaginations and find their more confident self, in order to make the changes they would like.
I have experience working with complex emotional difficulties in children, exam stress, confidence issues, to self- esteem and friendship issues. I also work with children who have a diagnosis of ASD, ADHD and ODD, as well as children with a low mood, anxiety, or having experienced past trauma.
I will meet with parents for approximately 45 minutes free of charge, or a telephone call if this is your preference, to discuss your child's needs before my initial session with your child. I also require signed parental consent. Any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
Training, qualifications & experience
After completing my BA honors degree in Criminology and Applied Psychology, I went on to study a Level 4 BACP accredited course at Life- Force School of Counselling in Colchester (awarded gold book standards training). This course ran over four years, where I achieved a level 4 Diploma. I undertook placements during my training working for Mind and supporting people with autism.
I then went on to study a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy at the Kent Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy, covering practical and theoretical applications of hypnotherapy and psychotherapy. I have also undertaken various developmental workshops over the past ten years of training, some of which I have listed below.
I have previously worked two years as a bereavement counsellor and also worked in a young offenders prison, working with rehabilitation. I then went on to work alongside social services, supporting families to process past trauma and make the necessary changes to improve their lives, working with presenting issues such as anger management, depression and anxiety, mental health, loss and bereavement and relationship difficulties. I also worked during this time one day a week as a school counsellor, for a well- known organisation, offering play therapy to children aged 4 to 11 years old.
I currently work privately, but also for an organisation as a school counsellor, working in Primary and Secondary schools across Kent.
