Laura Culley - Anxiety Specialist
Hi, I'm Laura, I specialise in helping adults and teenagers to overcome anxiety, phobias and panic disorder and increase their self-esteem and self-confidence.
Everything I do is client-based and focused on getting the best results possible. I'll help you to reach your goals in the best way for you.
While we work together I am always on hand via a phone call or message to offer support and guidance where needed. We will reflect on your progress every week and review and adapt our treatment plan as needed.
- Are you being held back by overwhelming anxiety?
- Do you dread the next panic attack?
- Do you wake with that feeling of impending doom?
- Is a fear or phobia making your life miserable?
I understand as I have been there myself, but there is hope for a brighter future. Please get in touch as I can help you feel calmer and more confident in a matter of weeks.
There is no one-size-fits-all treatment plan.
I offer a 6-week programme and use a combination of hypnotherapy, mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques to help you reach your goals and move forward with confidence.
We'll initially meet online for a first consultation so we can get to know each other and decide whether I am the right therapist for you. During this time, I will ask you questions about how the issue started, how it affects your day-to-day life and what you would like to achieve from hypnotherapy.
Towards the end of our treatment programme, we will discuss the next step and either continue with hypnotherapy sessions, make a date for a follow-up conversation or help you to move on to further help if needed.
I like to see clients weekly if possible and I will give you audios to listen to and practical tasks to complete between our sessions. I teach all my clients techniques to help overcome any future issues and I also teach you self-hypnosis and support these with recordings to listen to at home.
Please get in touch to arrange your initial free consultation. This is usually conducted online, but if you'd prefer to come and see me in person, please let me know and we can arrange something.
The therapy itself works well either online or in person, so you choose which would be best for you. I work in a cosy therapy room in Gandy Street, Exeter, and also at my home in Ottery St Mary, so you are welcome to come to either. Home and workplace visits can also be arranged if needed. Flexible appointment times are available so I can see you in the evenings or at the weekend.
I look forward to hearing from you.
A Few Testimonials...
"Laura's non-judgmental and expert skillset helped me to become (almost!) half the woman I was just over a year ago. She has helped me regain my body, which, in turn, has helped me regain my life. I am incredibly grateful that I found her. If you need to change any habit, I can't recommend her highly enough. Thank you so much, Laura."
"After losing my job, being unable to go anywhere in public, or meeting up with anyone including close friends and family. It was time for anxiety to stop controlling my life, my father suggested I tried it and I’m thankful he booked sessions with Laura for me. I’m the typical textbook anxiety case. Panic attacks, nausea, numb and painful limbs, migraines, you name it I get it. Medication was only doing so much. Laura really has changed my life. I have learned the tools needed to get me through basic life tasks that used to be like facing a den full of hungry lions. I can go food shopping on my own again, which seems like a basic task, but before I would be close to fainting at the thought of being in a shop. She has given me the skills to be able to open scary emails, answer phone calls and make them without any feeling of nausea. I can now meet new people and talk freely without any thoughts creeping into my mind. I can finally go into crowds and not feel like I’m being suffocated. Not only has she given me confidence in myself again but has given tools for me to use weekly to carry on this state of mind. I could not recommend this enough. If you’re thinking about having sessions, do it. It truly is life-changing and will change the way you view your anxiety and give you the tools to acknowledge it but not let it control your life anymore."
"I've had a past life regression session with Laura and I wanted to write a testimonial for her. After our session, I feel a little more of everything: confidence, ease, lightness, strength, joy, decisiveness, love, compassion, understanding, calmness. In the session, I've released old energies and emotions that I didn't need anymore. What I loved the most is that she gave me plenty of space and time to understand and feel those emotions precisely when I needed it - which now might sound a little abstract, but when you are in the moment it's very important so these energies can be fully 'processed' and worked through once and for all. She has been very kind and soft in her approach, and I definitely recommend her :)"
"I first found Laura through recommendation, I have previously had therapy but was looking for a different approach and wanted help instantly. Laura was available from the word go which I found really important when your mentally struggling and I just needed help, she got in touch and I was able to start straight away. To this day I am still doing therapy with Laura to keep myself in check, I’ve been having treatment with Laura for possibly the last 3 months and it helps me so much. For anyone really needing help just do it as it saves yourself, you are so not alone and Laura is so calming. I always feel she really cares at every session. So just go for it. Thank you Laura x."
"I found working with Laura to be an immense help. She was able to quickly identify my issue and develop ways to remove the blocks. She has a calm and reassuring manner and soothing voice, that makes you feel in safe hands. She also went the extra mile to provide links to meditations and exercises that I could use between sessions. I would highly recommend her!"
"Dear Laura, just a big thank you from me for sorting out my mind and thoughts. You are truly inspirational and a great guider of thoughts. I would 100% suggest anybody who is going through a rough patch or suffering bad thoughts or struggling with life's ups and downs, consider have hypnotherapy by Laura, you will be amazed how it will help you look at things in a different light. After six sessions my mind is totally clear as to what direction I should take, it has put all things into perspective."
"I consulted Laura because I was feeling unusually anxious. I knew the anxiety was pointless and tiring, but I couldn't find a way to reduce it. I liked Laura's web page, and hypnotherapy seemed worth a try. Laura gave me a free half-hour to begin with so that I could decide whether I wanted to invest in a six-session package. I did, and I found it really helpful. The first hour of each session was spent talking, trying to draw out what made me anxious, and how I behaved around anxiety. The final half-hour was a hypnotherapy session. It was quite like a guided meditation session. Laura was able to draw on what she knew of my anxiety patterns to devise a visualisation therapy. I found I was able to look at my feelings in a different, slightly objective way, and to access resources within myself that I hadn't really thought about before. After each session, Laura sent me a recording; she also offered several other useful and simple guides to reducing anxiety. I feel noticeably calmer having completed the sessions with Laura, and I think I've learned some very useful techniques. Laura is a very calm and pleasant therapist to work with, and I'm very grateful to her. All in all, very much worth it."
