About me

If you're reading this, it's because you've decided to change your life and make improvements. So why not let me help?

I love working with people to help them to make the most of their lives, and hypnotherapy allows me to do this. Maybe you're stressed, anxious or have other problems that are stopping you from maximising your potential and enjoying life to the full?  If so, hypnotherapy could be the answer.

Who am I?

I used to be a teacher in further education colleges and adult education - watching people change their lives into something better was a thrill for me then, and it still is. I've worked as a freelance as well, so I also understand the pressures of self-employment.

I’m not interested in sorting out a “quick fix” that won’t last. I want to give my clients the tools to help them overcome their problems and to continue to be able to cope in the future.

Where am I based?

I work from a consultation room on the south side of Harrogate, easily reached by both public transport and by car.

What do I offer?

A free initial consultation, so what have you got to lose? The answer is 'nothing - apart from your problems'. And we can talk about those together, and decide if I can help.

The areas where I offer therapy include the following:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Self-esteem
  • Mindfulness for wellbeing and optimum performance
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Phobias
  • Pain management
  • Positive ageing
  • Weight loss

I also offer therapy for IBS, insomnia, exam performance, driving test nerves, public speaking and sports performance.

If you have any issues that aren’t mentioned above, I still may be able to help you.

The General Hypnotherapy Register

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

A  satisfied client, Ms PF, writes:

“When I first met Kathleen my OCD had reached uncontrollable depths, the stress and anxiety I felt became unbearable, causing me many sleepless nights and this was having an overall negative effect on my work and home life...after each session I immediately felt uplifted and that I had cleared my mind of all the stress that had been building up....I now have a fresh outlook and I am finally able to sleep. Kathleen has helped me so much that I cannot thank her enough.”
