Hello and welcome to KPP Hypnotherapy.
I'm Kate and I practise Solution Focused Hypnotherapy which is a simple and modern hypnotherapy. This approach differs from other methods of therapy by focusing on the solutions and how you want things to be, rather than analysing problems or the past. It is a safe and powerful psychotherapeutic tool and also an extremely relaxing and pleasant experience. It is a positive experience which uses hypnosis to help you achieve your own desired outcome. This therapy will help reduce levels of anxiety, which can either be the cause of many conditions or make conditions worse. It will help you have a clearer outlook on life and enjoy it.
I worked for a long time in financial services. I gained a lot of experience and knowledge by working in a corporate retail and head office environment where delivery to timescales on projects and building and maintaining excellent relationships was paramount. Whilst I enjoyed this work I understand how the pressure and expectations from this environment can prove stressful. I left to spend time with my family and reassess where my passion lies. On occasions in my life I have suffered with anxiety and depression so this has fuelled my desire to help others who also suffer. I then discovered Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. I learned how we can use this therapeutic tool to help retrain our brains to free us from unwanted thoughts and behaviours and find positive solutions in a relatively short time. I now get immense satisfaction from helping people change their lives for the better.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist. I qualified from the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training, Bristol, a recognised centre of excellence for hypnotherapy training. I was trained by David Newton, the founder and senior lecturer at this practice. I am a member of both the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) and the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH). I attend regular supervision and continuing professional development to keep completely up to date. I have also got a Diploma in Medical Hypnotherapy. This has provided me with additional skills and training to help people with needle phobias, emetophobia (fear of being sick), chronic illness including helping people having chemotherapy, palliative care and pain management.
I am fully insured and hold a recent enhanced DBS certificate to work with adults and children.

Free telephone/email discussion to find out more information or reassurance.
£10 - Initial consultation (1 hour). A preliminary and informal discussion where you can ask any questions. I will also explain how the brain works and how we can start to help you.
£60 - Subsequent consultations (1 hour).
£120 - Smoking cessation (1 x 1 hour session, which includes the initial consultation and 1 x 1.5 hour session).
The number of sessions varies with each treatment and will be determined by you. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a short therapy, an estimation of the number of sessions required will be discussed during the initial consultation. For anxiety related issues it maybe 10-12 sessions, for a specific phobia (e.g. fear of flying) 4 sessions. Smoking cessation is 2 slightly longer sessions. My aim is to use as few sessions as possible to help you find lasting solutions and a desirable way forward in your life.
You will need to get on board with the process and be willing to work with me - some changes in lifestyle may be discussed. I promise to work with you to make the positive changes that you want so you can enjoy your life.
