About me

What do I offer?

As a Kent and Surrey based qualified Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist, I use Cognitive Behavioural Targeted Therapy and Hypnotherapy to treat a range of difficulties. MI work at two clinical addresses in Edenbridge, Options Salon, where I help clients with anxiety/stress, low self esteem, phobias, annoying habits (nail biting, nose picking, nail skin biting etc)  weight issues and shyness. I also work at Eden Sports Clinic on Mondays, where I help with managing chronic pain, identifying and relieving emotional causes for pain, and enhancing sports performance through visualisation and affirmations.

What can you expect?#The initial consultation is free. No hard sell, just getting to know each other and understanding your difficulties. following on from the initial conversation we will explore your difficulties in more depth before deciding on a the objectives for the session and a suitable treatment plan. With your agreement we will then proceed to treatment. Following each session you will receive a suitable recording and possibly some activities to try between sessions.

Following sessions - you may only need one session with me to feel much better. Before you leave each session the decision is yours whether to continue, and we will review your progress each time.

What treatments do you offer?

I use a range of evidence based methods. My training course at the UK College of Hypnotherapy is approved by the British Psychological Society because it is a rigorous training based on scientifically proven methods and evidence based methodology.

My methods include active listening, Cognitive Behavioural targeted therapy, hypnosis, mindfulness and solution focused training, and ACT.

Depending on your difficulties I would select the correct treatments for you and use them as agreed with you.

What people say:

'I am feeling quite relaxed and on top of things and hopefully this will now last...  all the exercises have been very useful, thank you.'

"Hi Kate, just to say I did it and drove to **...Thanks for all your help!"

My clients report that I give them the skills they need to move forward, and that my kind and empathetic personality relaxed them and made them feel safe and listened to.

What difficulties do you help with?

Anxiety, stress, low mood and phobias respond well to this treatment.

In addition I can help with smoking cessation, annoying habits, relaxation training and pain management.

Weight issues in particular respond well to solution focused Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy.

My work as a Celebrant and previous training in Education means that I can also help with grief and loss, wedding anxiety and best man speech panic!

How long does it take?

Commonly clients are feeling much better within 2-6 sessions. I am selective and work with clients I know will be able to use the strategies I teach and methods I use to overcome their difficulties. I am honest when I feel I cannot help, and will direct you to the appropriate professionals if needed.
