About me
I practice Cognitive Behavioural Therapy combined with hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy are each proven effective psychotherapeutic approaches in their own right. When used together, treatment has been shown to be even more effective and long-lasting than either individual method. My specialist area is anxiety and I have helped many clients to reach an anxiety free life. My approach is:
Future focused, so we don’t spend much time looking back into the past (unless there is a clear reason to do so). We focus on the beliefs, feelings and thoughts which are hindering you in the present. These are hard to identify by yourself as over the years they will have become automatic. Together, we can identify these thoughts, remove them and replace them with something far more positive. This enables change for the better across many areas of your life.
To ensure that you have the skills, the resilience and the tools to change the way that you respond in the future. I want to help you improve your life as quickly as possible, so I ensure that you have helpful work between sessions, such as recordings that you can listen to.
I offer a FREE 15 minute phone consultation where I can get to know more about your issue and let you know how I would work with you to help your specific issue should you choose to go forward and work with me.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, accredited by the National Council for Hypnotherapy, the General Hypnotherapy Register, the Register for Evidence-Based Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy and approved by the British Psychological Society.
I have a degree in Psychology as well as a counseling and life coaching qualification.
Member organisations

The General Hypnotherapy Register
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).
Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.
All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Further information
All hypnotherapy is not the same! I recommend ensuring you choose a hypnotherapist trained in cognitive behavioural techniques if you want to maximise the benefit of your session. While hypnotherapy is very powerful, it can provide a temporary fix if the underlying issues are not fully dealt with, which is where the CBT comes in.
