I am a passionate Solution Focused Hypnotherapist. I support people to improve their mental health and wellbeing, achieve their life goals and find clarity and motivation in their lives.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have worked in the mental health sector for many years and have much experience in this field. I believe this highly complements my work as a practitioner of hypnotherapy. I understand a broad range of mental health issues and how they manifest themselves. I believe social factors play a huge role in mental health and aim to work with people holistically and in person-centred, empowering ways.
I hold the HPD -which is considered the gold standard in hypnotherapy qualifications.
I use Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, CBT and Positive Psychology techniques as part of my practice.
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
National Council for Hypnotherapy
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members.
There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

What to expect...
Sessions last around an hour and in general I see people once a week, depending on what is right for them. The first half of the session consists of talking about solutions to issues, setting goals, supporting the person to move forward in their situation. The second half consists of hypnosis. This is where I hypnotise the person to be in that deeply relaxed mindspace. When in this state of mind I will make suggestions to the person about the solutions and goals we have discussed. I also use stories and metaphors. Hypnotherapy creates an optimal setting for making changes.
Do you remember having bedtime stories told to you as a child? How powerful they could be, how inspiring? This reminds me a bit of hypnosis! Except I'm using tried and tested techniques. People tend to feel really good after the sessions (although some say they'd like to fall asleep, which of course you can do if you're having a session online!).
