Hi, I am Julie and I am a qualified Clinical Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist, having trained at the center of excellence the Clifton Practice, Bristol. I have recorded a video at the bottom of this profile to give you further information on what to expect when working with me.
HYPNOTHERAPY FOR TEENAGERS
I enjoy working with teenagers and their specific problems. Teens can suddenly find themselves trying to deal with the physical symptoms of anxiety and depression whilst navigating puberty, exams, and social pressures. Some of the issues I have helped with are stuttering, facial and body tics, social anxiety,(not wanting to go to school, see friends, or join any social activities), health anxiety, sleep problems, OCD, IBS, and trying to deal with feeling anxious, depressed or angry. I have a private Facebook group for parents of anxious teenagers called The Happy and Confident Teenager, I give regular tips, hints, lots of information, and a weekly relaxation session.
HYPNOTHERAPY FOR ADULTS
Suffering from sleepless nights, feelings of overwhelming panic, low self-esteem, drinking more alcohol than you would like, phobias and fears, IBS, OCD, no motivation? These are all symptoms of too much anxiety and stress in our lives.
Hypnotherapy can help quickly and calmly by reducing the amount of stress and anxiety we produce in our everyday lives. I will explain how our minds work and how we can stop thinking negatively and look forward to a more positive life and control our thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis is a natural state of consciousness similar to daydreaming. In this relaxed state, your conscious mind is simply able to accept positive beneficial suggestions. You will still be aware of what's going on around you and you are still in control.
My clients come to see me for a wide range of problems, many of them anxiety-related such as phobias (fear of flying, driving, spiders, hospitals, etc), depression, obsessional thinking, lack of confidence or low self-esteem, insomnia, exam nerves, IBS, PTSD, eating disorders, alcohol abuse, and panic attacks.
I can also help with more practical issues such as stop smoking, weight loss, sports performance, public speaking, needle phobia, and pain management.
I have also obtained the Hypnotherapy Medical Diploma so can work with clients having chemotherapy to assist with fears of being sick (Emetephobia), needle phobia, or heightened anxiety with medical treatment. I can also work with clients who are receiving palliative care and want to enjoy their life to the best of their abilities.
I also have a Facebook page Julie Elizabeth Hypnotherapy where I regularly post live videos containing coping strategies and write a blog on my website for further information.
Due to client demand, I have also published a positivity journal based on what I have learned whilst working as a hypnotherapist. It is called Journal for a Happier You and is published on Amazon.

I graduated from the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training centre(CPHT) and hold the following qualifications.
- Diploma for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH).
- Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD) accreditied by the National Council for Hypnotherapy.
- Medical Hypnotherapy Diploma (CPDMH)

Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy
The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) was set up to provide information about a modern form of Hypnotherapy and its associated benefits to members of the public. The main aim of the AfSFH is to spread awareness of the benefits of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Its secondary aim is to support Hypnotherapists in their businesses by encouraging good practice and self-care.
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
National Council for Hypnotherapy
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members.
There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

During the initial consultation which lasts approx an hour we will discuss what you would like to achieve and I can explain how our mind works, why we concentrate on our problems and how we can access the part of the brain where we develope our solutions you will also receive a free relaxation CD or MP3 Download. We will also discuss how many sessions you may require.
A general guideline - depression, anxiety, insomnia, stress, sports performance, OCD, exam nerves, etc 4 - 6 sessions.
Some teenagers adapt very quickly and many only have 1-4 sessions.
Specific phobias - 2 or 3 sessions.
- Initial consultation - £70 (1hr)
- Further sessions - £70 (1hr)
- Concessions for children, students, over 65yrs, current and ex-military, emergency services, NHS staff, -£60
- Stop smoking is a one-off 2hr session - £150
I can offer flexible appointments during the day or evening Mon-Fri and occasionally at weekends.
I also offer online sessions via Zoom.
My consulting room is situated in the quiet village of Langford which has plenty of free parking, this is within a 10minute drive of Bristol Airport and 15minute drive from both Junction 20 and 21 of the M5.
Zoom and home visits can be made by arrangement.
I can offer flexible appointments during the day or evening Mon-Fri normal hours are 8 am - 8 pm and occasionally at weekends.
