Julia Desousa Your Emotional Wellbeing Matters

Cirencester GL7 & Ashley Cross Clinic, Poole BH14

About me

Welcome. I studied Human Givens Psychotherapy completing all Parts and it is from this therapy modality I work to provide Psychotherapy, Counselling and Hypnotherapy. Treatments for stress, anxiety disorders, depression, anger management, fears/phobias, weight loss issues, addictions ie smoking, alcohol, relationship issues and more.

This modality of therapy draws from the essence of a variety of tried and tested therapeutic methods (such as cognitive therapy, behavioural therapy, interpersonal therapy, solution focused approaches, motivational interviewing, reflective listening and hypnotherapy).

Providing effective therapy to get your life back working in as few sessions as possible. Sometimes as few as one to three sessions may be needed, depending on issues. OCD may require slightly more. Clients leave feeling more positive even after their first session.

I welcome the chance to work with you. Long-lasting results. Safe, effective, drug-free and without side effects. When both our physical and emotional needs are met in balance, we do not suffer symptoms of stress. We thrive. So if you feel as if you are hardly surviving, perhaps get in touch and a short discussion to identify how this approach can help get your life back on track - will be a step in the right direction.

Working with all ages having studied Child and Teens Hypnosis and a Certified Practitioner to work with Child, Teens and Adults.

Please see below for client testimonial on how effective this therapy is. Therapy that is based on up to date brain science and neural research.

I look forward to speaking with you.

My 20+ years as a Registered Nurse have equipped me with the skills to appreciate the mind and body are intrinsically linked. Our emotions impact on our physical health and can manifest as stress, fatigue, IBS, asthma, CFS, and more. When our needs are met in balance, we cannot get stressed and we live our lives being able to cope in a more positive way. I have helped many people from all walks of life, working from the Human Givens approach to emotional health and wellbeing. Therapy that does not dwell on the past, or involve dredging up or deep emotional voyages of discovery - I provide therapy that is truly holistic, safe and as brief as possible that works.

TESTIMONIAL:

A client testimonial stated:

“Thank you so, so much for your help Julia. You have achieved something I didn’t believe was at all possible. I feel so much calmer and less anxious about the future. Not only have you helped me, but you have given me the skills to continue to help myself. I wish I had seen you years ago. I really am incredibly grateful."

SG Female 40

It starts with a simple phone call, a few questions. We can book you in to attend your first session. Often a client will only need one session, sometimes progress is made with 2 or 3 - each client is unique and presents a different set of complex or seemingly simple issues to work through. We establish goals. Talk and no dredging up of the past or long journeys of discovery are required - you the client are the one in the driving seat. Sometimes homework tasks are set and agreed dates set for next visit. Therapists do not want their clients to be reliant/dependent on them. When enough progress is made; you the client will be happy to know that you no longer need to attend further sessions. Therapy is swift, brief and effective. Allowing you to move on with things and get your life back working again.
