Joanne Britton Hypnotherapist Specialising in Helping Clients Overcome Anxiety
About My Practice, Indigo Hypnosis
Thank you for visiting my profile. Indigo Hypnosis offers you a place to find peace of mind and clarity, giving you the space to create new ways of thinking and therefore experiencing life. My philosophy is to treat you, the client, not your condition/problem. This holistic approach is what brings change that is far reaching and long lasting.
My background before coming to hypnotherapy is as a complementary therapist specialising in reflexology and holistic massage. Having worked in the health and well-being sector for eighteen years I am passionate about my belief that we all have the right to good health, both physically and emotionally.
I have a high degree of empathy and understanding, and work from an entirely non-judgemental perspective.I offer hypnotherapy to assist clients with a range of issues including generalised anxiety, fears, phobias, insomnia, low self-esteem, stop smoking, weight control, pain control, IBS, and more. I enjoy helping clients to find their confidence again, and to embrace change in their lives as they realise their full potential.
What to Expect From Your First Session
Hypnosis is an entirely natural state of being, something we all access around 6-7 times a day. Daydreaming, imagining a possible future, reading an absorbing novel, or watching a captivating film are all hypnotic experiences. When you are singularly focused and anything outside of your inner experience does not distract you from that experience, you are in a state of hypnosis.
This means that everyone can enjoy the benefits of hypnosis, and you can rest assured that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. During your first session, we will spend time talking, so that I can really gain clear insight into what you need to create the changes you desire. Then you will learn how to access the deeply relaxed state of inner focus which is hypnosis, so that you can access it when you need it, giving you the confidence that you are always in control of the deeper part of you.
Hypnosis can be described as a 'learning zone' and it is the job of a hypnotherapist to enhance, deepen and enrich your hypnotic experience, along with offering you positive, tried and test methods to create the change that you desire.
My Location and Treatment Room

My fees for hypnotherapy are £60 a session. Each session is for one hour, with the exception of the initial appointment which is an hour and a half. You will receive your own personally created MP3 hypnosis download to listen to in between our sessions which really does help to support the changes you are making and enriches the hypnotic experience. From experience, most issues benefit from four to six sessions.
I offer all clients a free 30 minute telephone consultation, where we can discuss your needs and I can explain how hypnosis can help you. If you wish to then proceed and book in, I will advise on how many sessions you will need and begin work to create your individual treatment plan.
Block booking is recommended, and I do offer a fee of £300 for six sessions when paid on your first appointment, saving you money and ensuring a high level of commitment.
My Stop Smoking programme is over two sessions of 120 minutes, again you will receive MP3 downloads and other support to break the habit. Fees are £195 paid upon the first session in full.
You can pay for your treatment in cash, bank transfer or credit/debit card.
Sessions are available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9.00am-5.00pm Thursday 9.00am-7.00pm
