What to Expect From Your First Session
Hypnosis is an entirely natural state of being, something we all access around 6-7 times a day. Daydreaming, imagining a possible future, reading an absorbing novel, or watching a captivating film are all hypnotic experiences. Being in the state of hypnosis is not "going under", a common misconception. Hypnosis is more a state of "going within".
It is in this state of being, as you focus entirely upon your thoughts and feelings, that you can be very responsive to new concepts and ideas, suggestions for positive change.
This means that everyone can enjoy the benefits of hypnosis, and you can rest assured that all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. During your first session, we will spend some time talking, so that I can gain clear insight into what you need to create the changes you desire. Then you will learn how to access the deeply relaxed state of inner focus which is hypnosis, so that you can access it when you need it, giving you the confidence that you are always in control.
Hypnosis can be described as a 'learning zone' and it is the job of a hypnotherapist to enhance, deepen and enrich your hypnotic experience, along with offering you positive, tried and test methods to create the change that you desire.

These organisations both ensure that therapists regularly update their knowledge and further their skills with continuing professional development, as well as regular supervision sessions.
The General Hypnotherapy Register
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).
Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.
All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
National Council for Hypnotherapy
The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members.
There is an agreed Code of Conduct, an established Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure and all members are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance, maintain regular CPD (continuing professional development) hours, and attend Supervision when needed.
Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
If you have been diagnosed or suspect you may have one of the medical conditions starred above, you should consult your GP for advice, diagnosis and treatment and always inform your health professional before starting any alternative or additional therapies or treatments.
My fees for hypnotherapy are £75 a session. Each session is for one hour, with the exception of the initial appointment which is an hour and a half. You will receive your own personally created MP3 hypnosis download to listen to in between our sessions which really does help to support the changes you are making and enriches the hypnotic experience.
I offer all clients a free 30 minute telephone consultation, where we can discuss your needs and I can explain how hypnosis can help you. If you wish to then proceed and book in, I will advise on how many sessions you will need and begin work to create your individual treatment plan.
You can pay for your session in cash, bank transfer or credit/debit card.
