Pathview Therapy is a professional business owned by myself, Joanna Hope. I am a qualified and insured Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapeutic Counsellor based in Burnham on Crouch, Essex. My love and passion is working with people, it always has been.
I believe that no two individuals are the same and how we react and cope with certain situations are very different to how others would. It is for this reason that every client who comes to Pathview Therapy will be treated as unique and a completely personalised therapy plan will be designed for that individual. I treat everyone with the utmost respect and confidentiality is of paramount importance.
My personal statement:
I fully appreciate that some people may be feeling nervous or anxious about coming to see me, which is why I like to get my clients to feel at ease from the moment we meet. A friendly, positive smile goes a long way to helping people feel relaxed. Building a good therapeutic relationship together where you feel at ease and creating a space for you to relax is vital for me.
If you have come this far to reading about me, then you have done an amazing first step to acknowledging that there are ways I may be able to help you. You can contact me via telephone, text message and Facebook.

Within our initial consultation, we spend the time chatting and I take details down that I need to help me to produce the personalised therapy plan. Between the initial consultation and the first therapy session (Usually one week later) I produce my treatment plan and assess the long term and short term goals and how we are going to reach them. I also produce the work needed for therapy. Therapy then starts together.
I am available to take all enquiries and will endeavour to give the closest possible available appointment. I also offer home visits.
Jo helped me during a particularly difficult time in my life when I had lost my Dad and didn't know how to handle the grief. I didn't know whether to have a massive crying session and let it all come out (but I was worried I would sink so low I'd never be happy again) or to try and put a lid on my emotions and block them out (but I worried I would be building a dam that would eventually burst).
Jo was very caring and attentive and it was such a relief to be able to talk to her about my feelings, it felt as though a weight had been taken off my shoulders. She taught me ways of coping with the sad moments which would crop up day to day as well as how to manage the significant dates (his birthday, Christmas, and the anniversary of his death).
Part way through my counselling sessions, my Mum died too. I know the strategies that Jo had put in place for me, helped me cope with losing her too. It feels strange having no parents. I will always love them and miss them, but I feel stronger now, and as that chapter of my life closes, a new one opens and I can now see that I have much to look forward to, whilst still holding them dear in my heart.
I would strongly recommend anyone going through bereavement to see Jo for counselling. I am much more confident now that I can cope with the loss and I feel like I've got my life back again, thank you Jo x

Jo was recommended to me through a close friend when I was experiencing some difficulty in my home, personal and work life. A little unsure as to what to expect entering our first session any anxieties were quickly put to rest and I found that Jo was an incredibly calming and easy to connect with individual.
After the first session Jo began to steer me towards recognising my behaviours and taught me to either approach situations differently or deal with them in a way in which I could gather a sense of closure.
The results were almost instantaneous and my home and work life began to become more bearable and I felt in myself substantially calmer than when I first began.
Towards the end of my time with Jo I felt as if a huge weight of negative energy had been lifted off my shoulders and I could approach any situation and cope throughout. I learned a great deal about myself and others around me in a short period of time and it was all beneficial to who I am today.
Jo is at the top of her game and I believe can relate and connect with anybody, if I ever come across any individuals in my life who need guidance I will be sending them Jo’s way.
