You might be looking at a hypnotherapy page because there is something about yourself or your life you would like to change. Perhaps you have anxiety, phobias, or are feeling stressed, overwhelmed or out of control. Perhaps you have unwanted habits, or want to have a healthier relationship with food, be motivated to exercise, or manage your chronic pain better. Or maybe you just wish you could be happy with the person you are. If there is something holding you back from having the life you want, hypnotherapy could be the answer you’ve been searching for!
Hypnotherapy is a highly effective therapeutic medium which incorporates both hypnosis and therapy. Hypnosis is a very pleasant and relaxing state which we all experience daily, such as when we daydream, or are engrossed in a good book or film, and unknowingly tune out from our internal thoughts and the world around us. As a hypnotherapist, I am highly skilled in facilitating clients into this natural hypnotic state, which dials down the analytical, judgemental voice of the conscious mind and allows direct communication with the unconscious mind, the powerful control panel of all our habits, learned behaviours and beliefs.
The therapy aspect of our sessions are of equal importance and I provide an individualised, person-centred and relaxed approach to therapy, using various therapeutic techniques and approaches to meet your specific needs, rather than a one size fits all approach. This includes neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT) and psychoanalysis. As a specialist in the field of analytical hypnotherapy, I can enable you to discover the root cause of your problem and develop a deeper awareness of the self, as over the course of our lives we all develop learned habits, beliefs and behaviours, some of which are useful, and some not so much. In gaining this insight, we can then work together to discover your inner resources, re-programme the maladaptive learned habits, beliefs and behaviours and make the changes you desire.
I also offer Hypnotherapy via Skype, so no matter where you are in the world, please get in touch!
I started my career as an occupational therapist and have extensive clinical knowledge and experience of various physical and mental health conditions, the holistic nature of health and well-being and enabling people to overcome barriers, reach their full potential and engage in more meaningful activities, which has a direct impact on our minds and bodies. I have been able to use this knowledge and experience to enhance my hypnotherapy practice and the two therapeutic mediums certainly complement each other well.
I have always been fascinated by the holistic nature of health and well-being and after trying other therapies for anxiety and low self-esteem for years to no avail, a friend recommended hypnotherapy to me. I thought that was just for laughing at people being silly on stage! Oh how wrong I was, for the first time ever I felt free from unwanted and negative thoughts, had control of my anxiety and, most importantly, I learnt to love myself, both inwards & outwards. This is something I never thought would be possible and it is no exaggeration to say that for me, hypnotherapy was life-changing. This led to me wanting to train and enable others to have the same life-changing experience, and because I know how it feels to be sat in that chair, I can truly empathise with clients and I will make it my personal mission to do all I can to help you reach the outcome you desire!
