Emotional support when you need it
Therapy can help when you need that bit of extra emotional support to deal with life’s challenges. It gives you the tools to heal and to cope in difficult situations. Specifically, therapy builds resilience, develops a more flexible outlook and increases your self esteem.
Harley Street and Chelsea
I provide individual therapy from tranquil consulting rooms on Harley Street as well as in Chelsea. All clients are treated with the strictest levels of confidentiality and I abide by the ethical framework of the GHR.
Firstly, we discuss what you would like to achieve from therapy. Accordingly, depending on your wishes, we can set goals for the short or long term. The techniques I work with include mindfulness, breath-work, deep relaxation, cognitive behavioural therapy and hypnotherapy.

How does CBT work with Hypnotherapy?
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy provides tools to develop a more flexible, solution-focused mindset. Uniquely, it is a very transparent process with the therapist coaching a set of skills. Unlike other therapies, it is a quick and effective process. Sometimes just a handful of sessions can be transformative.
CBT is clinically proven to provide effective treatment for many health conditions. The NHS currently approves its use for conditions including, anxiety, OCD, insomnia, phobias, IBS and eating disorders.
Overcoming Negative Thinking
Self-doubt and negativity crop up in everyone’s mind from time to time. However, for some people, these types of thoughts become overwhelming. This type of negative thinking pattern creates an internal battle between how our life ‘should’ be and the reality.
Finding a better way
CBT identifies our unique, habitual responses that are involved in this pattern of negative or unhelpful thinking. Once these thoughts have been identified we can learn to replace them with more helpful ones.
Consequently, we can learn to reframe our thinking to generate a greater sense of acceptance. Similarly, as our mind projects us forward to worry about the future, mindfulness techniques can help to pull thoughts back to the here and now. CBT prompts thinking to be mindful, to focus on the present without worry about the future.
Rewiring the brain
The positive effects of CBT are well documented in clinical trials. It is a powerful technique which trains the brain to challenge and change habitual responses. CBT has an incredibly powerful effect, not only lifting our mood, but improving resilience both mentally and physically.
Consolidating new learning
You wouldn’t give a presentation without preparation. Likewise, you don’t want to leave the therapy session without implementing new thinking patterns. Hypnotherapy can accelerate the adoption of new thinking patterns. It also consolidates the learnings from therapy sessions. Under hypnosis you experience and rehearse how to put CBT techniques into practice in your daily life.
In conclusion, cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy ensures that learning moves from the theoretical to the practical. It enables the implementation of new, helpful thoughts, emotions and behaviours. So, we can transform the way we deal with situations, not by changing the world around us, but by changing our reactions.
