Combining techniques from clinical hypnotherapy and CBT is a highly effective approach. In fact I use many different techniques depending on what will be most helpful. Because everyone is different we'll work with what's best for you.
I'm have been a trainer with Relate for 15 years.
In 2016 I was resident therapist and feature writer for Top Sante magazine.

What is Hypnosis?
It's actually a naturally occurring state. Have you ever been absorbed in a book and simply unaware of what's going on around you? That's a very similar psychological state – one of deep absorption and focussed attention. Hypnosis is not 'mind control' – you are always in control. It is not like being asleep - although you will probably feel extremely relaxed. Many say is feels more like a pleasant day dream. This calm, easy state allows your 'unconscious' mind to accept positive suggestions and imagine creative solutions.
What happens in the session?
We'll examine the sources of your problem along with the emotional issues - although we don't get bogged down in the past because this is about finding creative solutions to bring about the change you want for the future. We work on developing effective strategies and creating positive suggestions that will help you get to your goal, and we then use hypnosis to embed these deeply into your ‘unconscious’ mind.
My style is solution-focussed, warm and positive. I've helped clients with a wide variety of issues, particularly with anxiety, fears and phobias, PTSD, depression, relationship and emotional issues.
Who do I Help?
I enjoy working with a wide variety of people, across the board. My passion is helping people increase their self-belief and confidence, and I especially love working with teenagers who are experiencing stress relating to their studies or their relationships.
