About me

Would you like help to overcome anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, trauma or something quite different?  Whatever your issue, it’s likely that I can help you. I am passionate about freeing people from issues that are holding them back or bringing them down.  So if you want friendly and professional help to move forward in your life and you are in the Bromley or East Dulwich area please get in touch so that we can discuss the way forward.

Why choose hypnotherapy?

It's likely that the subconscious controls around 90% of what we feel, think and do.  Therefore it makes sense to address the subconscious when seeking personal change.  Hypnotherapy is well placed to do just that through the use of relaxation, trance and other techniques to help you on a process of discovery and deep change.

What is a session like?
Sessions with me are around 90 minutes. Generally the first session is the longest but this can vary. Before you come in we will have talked on the phone for 20 - 30 minutes so that we can get to know each other and make sure that this is the right approach for you. If I don't think it is, I will tell you and of course you are free to decide whether you want to work with me.

In the first session I will gather more details about the issue and will aim to start the deeper work or to at least teach you techniques so that you can begin to get some control over the problem. Over the next few sessions I will use a number of different techniques to achieve the changes you want.  We are also likely to hypnotically rehearse how you want to be in the present and in the future so that you teach your subconscious how you want to be so that new, more helpful behaviour becomes familiar and natural.

What is hypnosis?
It's not clucking like a chicken or me having some weird control over you! Trance states are a natural part of daily life. If you've ever been driving and suddenly 'come to' or become so deeply absorbed in something you were unaware of your surroundings for a while then you've been in a trance. If you've had a crush on someone that's a trance. Hypnosis is about a narrow focus of attention and in therapy a trance can be sufficiently light so that I can ask questions and you can answer or you might go deeper and become so involved in your inner world that speaking seems like an effort you don't want to make.

Some of my clients feel nervous about the prospect of going into hypnosis and 'losing control'.   I want to reassure you that during the session I will explain what we are going to be doing and why and you are free to ask me questions and talk about any concerns.   Rest assured that it is your subconscious mind that is in control and it will only accept suggestions and changes that are for your benefit.

It's important to remember that unlike stage hypnosis which is for entertainment, our aim is therapeutic and hypnosis is used to create and embed the changes that you want so that you can live more freely and fully.

If you would like a no pressure, friendly and free chat on the phone about your issue and whether hypnotherapy could help, please just email, text or call me to book a convenient time.

What my clients say

Thanks so much in helping my daughter.  She has with your amazing help, managed to control her thoughts and avoid her panic anxiety that she initially presented with.  ... I believe that your skills, knowledge and calm approach has enabled her to face her worries and develop the skills and techniques to confront and control them.  An amazing feat for an eleven year old little girl.  She is a lot more confident and although becomes anxious at times, she is now able to control them and be aware of her feelings.

Just wanted to thank you for your wonderful work on Monday. My life is so different with that fear gone.

I am amazed at how much calmer and happier I feel. I even walk differently with my head held high!

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been in practice since 2014 after gaining my Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD) with the *Quest Institute London.  The HPD is accredited with the National Council for Hypnotherapy and externally verified by the NCFE.  This means that you can be sure that I have been properly trained in line with the best standards in the UK.  Additionally as a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy I am bound by a strict code of conduct and ethics.

Helping people transform their lives through hypnotherapy is my passion as well as my livelihood.  I am therefore constantly deepening and widening my skills and knowledge through ongoing professional development.

I am also a Master Practitioner in NLP.

*Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy

Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy is an approach created by Trevor Silvester who founded the Quest Institute which is a training and research organisation. It uses a model of how we create and maintain our problems that allows therapists to integrate many techniques from other therapeutic approaches in a structured way. Flexibility of technique is important so that we can find the right ones for you to overcome your issue. As a graduate of the Quest Institute I have been trained in hypnosis and also in the use of NLP, EFT, EMI, Gestalt and Positive Psychology.

Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy also uses a method of creating hypnotic suggestion unique to Quest which puts the client at the heart of the process.

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Additional information

At around 90 minutes my sessions are longer than the average 'therapy hour' of 50 minutes.  This means we can get more done per session which is a more effective use of your time.

Many issues can be resolved in around one to four sessions.  More complex issues are likely to take longer.

I offer a free initial consultation by phone that you can book by emailing me.

Further information

It can be daunting to consider doing therapy.  We can feel that needing help means that we are weak in some way and that we should be able to manage on our own.  Alternatively we might think that our issue is foolish or strange and we fear being judged for it. That's certainly how I used to feel when I first sought therapeutic help and it's why I want to reassure you that I am deeply non-judgemental and I seek only to understand what the issue is and find the best way to release you from it.
