About me

I am Heather Shaw, a qualified solution focused hypnotherapist and psychotherapist.

I am passionate about helping others to overcome obstacles and reach their potential, which is why I studied Education as part of my English degree at Warwick University. I then worked as a primary school teacher for over twenty years.

During my time spent as carer for my parents I developed my interest in hypnotherapy and how the practice can support people in challenging circumstances.

I hold a Hypnotherapy Practitioners Diploma from the National Council for Hypnotherapy along with a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy from The Clifton Practice in Bristol. I am a member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy as well as being registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council. I attend regular supervision, mentoring and continuous professional development sessions to keep my practice current, am fully insured and hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

I have experience of working with clients of all ages. I will ensure that your therapy programme is tailored to help you identify your goals, supporting you as you work towards them.

I conduct sessions online which I have found to be highly effective. Clients have told me that they appreciate being able to talk to me from the comfort of their own home with many mentioning how much easier this makes it for them to attend appointments.

Testimonials:

"I found Heather at a time when I was struggling to make some lifestyle changes. I am a carer for my young disabled child, which over the years has taken a toll on my emotional and physical well-being...over a short period of time of receiving hypnotherapy from Heather, I have noticed many positive changes, which have had, and continue to have, an enormous positive impact on my life...."

"Thank you Heather, for making such a positive change to my daily life. After years of anxiety, and chronic pain, I wasn't holding out much hope when I came to see you for the first time....what I wasn't prepared to have was a complete change of my outlook and coping mechanisms...I'd highly recommend Heather to anyone feeling overwhelmed and wanting to make a positive change..."

"After just four weeks my daughter was noticeably more relaxed, sleeping better and brimming with confidence."

"I was experiencing difficulties at work and this was causing me to have irregular sleeping patterns...hypnotherapy was an amazing experience and has helped me to see my life completely differently..."
