About me
During our sessions I will listen to your needs and together, we will create a treatment plan that works towards achieving your goals whether that be challenging negative beliefs about yourself or making positive changes to become healthier, sleep better, beat phobias or change habits.
The treatments I provide are focused on helping those who want to change, but struggle to make the change happen on their own. My job as a hypnotherapist is to ensure the seeds of change are firmly planted in your subconscious -the most powerful influencer in your mind- so you can achieve the goals you desire and effectively change thoughts, beliefs and behaviour.
In the past I've successfully helped clients with weight loss, quitting smoking and overcoming phobias such as flying and driving. I've also had success helping clients give up unwanted habits such as skin picking and thumb sucking. My area of special expertise however, is helping those suffering from chronic stress, anxiety, anger and confidence related issues.
Training, qualifications & experience
I began my career as a therapist in 2016 when I trained as a hypnotherapist with Chrysalis at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, earning my diploma in hypnotherapy and counselling skills in 2017. I followed up by training as a Jikiden Reiki Practitioner in 2018, and then Swedish Massage in 2020 with the Edinburgh Complementary Training School and the Wholehearted Training Academy.
Over the years I’ve developed a keen interest in mental health and trauma recovery. I became a trauma informed therapist after studying the brain science of trauma and trauma recovery. I also trained as a mental health first aider and completed the suicide prevention and awareness course ASSIST.
As an eternal student at heart, I have since trained in other therapies such as foot reflexology, holistic facials, sport, hot stone massage, deep tissue massage.
I’m now a fully accredited member of the National Hypnotherapy Society and the Guild of Holistic Therapists.
I own a clinic in Innerleithen called Tweed Valley Massage. I offer a range of therapies and treatments here. The hypnotherapy room is located in the back of the clinic where it is very quiet and peaceful.
